Levi's Men's 559 Relaxed Straight Jean

I bought 5 pairs of jeans in different colors but the same style (559 relaxed straight stretch) and the same size (36 x 36). Out of those 5 pairs, no 2 had the same measurements. The waist and inseam varied by as much as a couple inches in either direction. One pair fir perfectly, so I kept it. For the next 6 months, I wore that pair and a second pair of Levi's in a slightly different style that I bought in a store. After about 6 months, each pair catastrophically failed when the material (not the seam) got a huge rip near the crotch. I'm done with Levi's forever.

I have worn Levis in some form for as long as I can remember but these were different. After about 2 weeks, bothe side rear belt looks broke off on the bottom stitching area, this is product defect a should be returnable, but they aren't and I am not happy with this. I would just sew it back on but as you can see there is nothing there to sew it to, it just shredded the spot it connects.

Jeans are only a couple months old and holes developed at the upper corners of the rear pockets resulting in a tear on one side. These jeans are toast only a couple months after purchasing. Pretty disappointing after having other pairs for well over a year with no problems.

I have been exclusively wearing Levi's 559's for my denim for many years and I have always loved them. One thing that I didn't pay much attention too when ordering my most recent pair, is that it said "stretch" in the size. Stretchable jeans are new to me, but they are still comfortable. If you decide to go the stretch route, I suggest buying a size that is 1 size smaller than you typically wear, as these things are cut big.

For real, nothing beats this exact fit (559 Relaxed Straight). I owned a pair that's lasted me many many years and now it's starting to fall apart. It's protected my legs from hot slag while welding, never caught fire btw, and provided a nice outer layer in bitter cold weather. It's a champion workhorse among jeans whether you're in your steeltoes putting in your hours or your in your best cowboy boots hitting the town, and the best part, it's so comfortable!Foolishly I tried out other brands and fits of jeans just to try something new and I hated all of them. This slim fit craze drives me nuts because it's all I find in my local stores and those things not only look ugly, while highlighting a lack of muscle in your lower body just sayin', I can't see why any man would subject themselves to such uncomfortable levels of clinging to your nuts!So I've finally come home to this pair of pants and I think I'll never let it go. I now own a brand new pair of these and intend to get more in the future. Feel the difference!

so i like my levis 559's very much. i order a few pairs a year. this last batch, CRAP. They immediately felt VERY thin, not the heavy and durable thick denim we expect from them. They felt like el cheepo mall jeans. i have had them for a few months now, and havent done anything with them other then wear them at work, (sales) and out to the bars, just normal everyday stuff! back of the crotch and butt, are BLOWING out. not ripping, they are literally separating into a thin sheet of cotton that at an given moment, show the WORLD more than i would like lol. SO LEVI'S........... GET IT TOGETHER! Last time i checked throwing your fabric a bump up to increase quality, will increase customer satisfaction, which will increase using the customer as your marketing campaign, which will drive your sales up, which will increase your margins TD, and create the customer base you want....... people like me who automatically think LEVI'S are the BEST! and next time around you will just have happy customers that want to spend with you for life!

I am wearing a pair of 559's that I bought a few years ago, it says 36x30 right on the outside leather label. They fit fine, so I went ahead and ordered a similar style and sized (different color) pair of jeans. They are too tight, and not just by a little, so I'm exchanging them. I can accept I've put on weight, but whatever my current waist size, a pair that fits should be the same fit as the same style similarly sized. Two stars.Update #1: the 38 x 30's waist fits exactly same as the older 36 x 30, so I am keeping them. As usual Amazon was great with the free return and quick replacement exchange. The leg inseam length is running a bit longer (as opposed to the waist running smaller), but no need for a return, that can be taken in at the dry cleaners. If it matters, new pair made in Lesotho, older paid said made in Cambodia. Three stars.Update #2: ordered a 2nd pair of 559 (a 3rd color, made in Egypt this time). They fit perfectly at my higher waist size, and aren't too long like the 2nd pair. Material is stretchier. I guess we just need to keep in mind that they call a lot of different jeans "559's" and plan to try a few. Up to four stars. Only wrote this 2nd review as an update to the first one because Amazon made me.

I ordered the stretch version of these. Some are stretch and some are not. It depends on which color you choose. I wanted the most comfortable pair of Levi's I could find and I bought a pair of 559's a while back in a stretch color and they are so much more comfortable than the other non-stretch pairs I own. The other jeans were not 559 Relaxed fit either though. I have a bit of a belly (not too big) and sitting for long periods of time can be tough in my other jeans. These have big pockets that swallow up my large size iPhone as well. I may order more of these since they are so comfortable.I can't speak for the non-stretch colors. I didn't pay any attention to the stretch logo on my first pair but I quickly noticed that they did stretch and it was a wonderful surprise. This pair was ordered specifically in a stretch color for that reason.

These jeans were not what I expected. I wish the ad would have clearly stated they were made of stretch material however now I know if I decipher the material blend (98% cotton 2% spandex) I should be able to determine this. I didn't even know the 559's came in stretch material as I had never seen them like this in the store. The pair i received did not look or fit like the Levi's 559 I have been wearing for years. The leg was too long and the overall shape seem different. I ended up sending them back.

virtually everything else in the world is standardized. why cant clothing manufactures do the same. especially since most of it's made with cnc cutters now. I've never owned a pair of lee jeans(because of their over inflated pricing) and i will never buy them again. every other company i order from fit, more ore less, the same. these were several inches too big. the sizing label said they were what i ordered. also the material, which sort of looked like denim, seemed way thinner than usual. the bad side... have to wear suspenders to keep them up. the good side... i can wear every shirt and sweater i have at the same time and still tuck them all in. for a brand name product over all, they just feel and look cheap.

I went up an inch in waist size and needed new black jeans. These are decent for the price, loose/relaxed fit, and are a BLACK black wash; but compared to selvedge jeans and others I've bought in the past, they don't have any sort of top coating or treatment to prevent stains / lint, and I find I wash them more frequently than others. I would probably go with the Unbranded Brand or other jeans brands with stretch selvedge + a top finish instead.

I have 2 pair of these. Well worn and in need of replacement. Looked all over and finally found these 559s. While the fit is perfect for me the material is much lighter. Worst of all the zipper is CRAP. I’ve been wearing Levi’s for 50 years and have had no issues with zippers or buttons. Until now. The zippers on these literally fell apart after a few wearings. Washed once or twice. Inside out, buttoned and zipped. They were quickly replaced with another pair through a good claim process. Zipper on the second pair falls apart again! Almost in the same timeframe. I’m currently still using them with a tongueless zipper. No point in exchanging cause the zipper is CRAP. They are damned comfortable however, so I will tolerate it and never buy them again.Pretty damned disappointed. Wondering if they are counterfeit?Really hoping they are because these jeans are not a good product.

I wanted a new Levi's 559 as my previous 559 Jean's were really getting tattered after so many years. I ordered the same measurements shown on my previous pair of Jean's and what I received was an exact fit. So I am very happy.One reason for seeking this 559 style us not just the relaxed fit but also for the deep pockets for my cell phone etc.

this is the next bext model to levis 535 which is my favatie jean since....ever! im 6feet @170 and like comfort and style of these over designer brands, such as dissel (costs a lot more and similar cut is more stickey and not too relaxed! material is a bit better) or another one which i didnt even care to rememer the name when cost was more the 10X and cut was not something i wear....perfet and even color as pic shows and i do work in office that requires suits but woren with nice sport jacket , i have never had issues on dress codes whenever i were them at work

Being a fat old senior I had given up on finding a pair of jeans that weren’t baggy old man jeans and would fit the way I delusionally thought they should despite no longer being 35 and 60 pounds lighter. These are a slightly larger fit than my last 42 inch waist pair (which if the truth were told really should have been 44’s) and the seat and thigh are “relaxed” fit but not the least bit baggy!! I am one happy camper!!! Just hope I don’t forget where I got them from!?#*!

Perfecto, me gustaría comprarlo nuevamente en varios colores, pero no se por que ya no lo tienen en existencia.Devolví uno de talla equivocada pidiendo que me mandaran otro de mi talla y no me lo mandaron , pero se quedaron con lo que pagué. Quiero que me mandem otro o que me lo abonen a mi tarjeta de crédito por favor. Mi talla es: 34-32.

I read a review about the type of denim not being the same as it once was and I agree with that review these jeans are great they fit and all that but the material is significantly lighter than 501

Fits great I love the colour.And I’m going to Order another pair. It’s probably the only pair of Levi’s I could wear with bigger thighs that fits great and comfortably with room . Are usually were 36-32 I find them little to big .I took a chance.And I order another pair I went with 34-32 and the fit better there perfect .

I have never bought clothes online until I bought these jeans. The fit was exactly what I wanted. I had searched some clothing stores locally but couldn't find the fit I wanted. These are my go to jeans now. I bought another 2 pairs in different colors. Great product.

Cuando llegó me di cuenta que dice strech, que es eso dije, pero bueno le estoy dando una oportunidad ya que tengo ese modelo comprado en tienda física de USA, y en nada se parecen, además que no me queda igual de largo, creo que no volveré a comprar jeans por este medio pantalones, porque me queda corto y eso que aún no lo lavo.

Solicite un modelo 559 y llegó como modelo 511, me pueden explicar?, De lo contrario los regresaré!

Este modelo me gustó por que el diseño es relajado y permite más movimiento para las personas que no nos gustan los pantalones muy ajustados. Seleccioné la talla de siempre y no tuve problemas con el tamaño de la cintura y el largo. Recomendados.
