I love this display.
Love the screen. Since it is a 4K display, the text can be very small. So one's eyes have to be very good. (Or reading glasses are necessary.) My eyes, since I have had cataracts removed for both eyes, is just good enough to read the smallest print. Of course another factor on print size is affected by the particular application making the display. Most applications allow one to change the size of text fonts; so if my eyes are feeling strained, I can easily (cmd + on the Mac) increase the font size. But I wanted the 4K because I always have a lot of windows open and I like to have a lot of real estate. My Apple HD display (1994) has 1900 horiz x 1200 pixels verti; this NEC 4K display has 3840x2160. So I can get a lot on the screen at one time.I like the ability to easily raise/lower and rotate the display. I also like that it can rotate to the portrait position. I have read complaints that the ports for the display are difficult to get to. But I have found that I can raise the display and partially rotate it toward the portrait position, plus rotate it on its vertical axis, until I can easily see and reach the ports while seated in front of the display.I started connecting the display to the computer with an HDMI-to-HDMI cable. That worked well. However I have read in reviews that the refresh rate for HDMI is 30 Hz. I probably don't need a rate any higher than that; I don't do gaming, for example. But I wanted to move to a Display-to-Thunderbolt cable. I had also read that the accuracy is the same for HDMI and Display Port. I have found that this is not true. Based upon my visual observations, the Display Port gives a little better sharpness in the text displayed. And the refresh rate for the Display Port is 60 Hz.This display gives one the option of changing the display resolution through the settings built into the display. The horizontal and vertical resolutions can be changed independently of each other. So it it turns out that the native resolution displays text that is too hard to read, this feature gives one a way to recover. And speaking of display settings, there are - a - lot of them. I don't yet understand them all, but the user manual will explain them. There is a "Human Sensing" mode that will lower brightness when a human is not in front of the display, raising it again when a person reappears. There is a "DV Mode" that gives priority to text, movie, gaming, photo, depending on what one wants to have the better clarity. There is a "Multi Picture" feature that permits setting up another display in addition to the NEC, without requiring the computer graphics card to select two displays. I'm not sure, but I think this is accomplished by raising-chaining displays with HDMI cables. These of some of the settings that I found interesting. My NEC display also included a screen calibration device that is used against the screen. I haven't used it yet; so I won't comment on it.I have uploaded an example of the display that is fully populated.

Really Happy So Far
I purchased this monitor from another vendor only because it became available sooner than any Amazon sources. I'm running Windows 10 on an i7 desktop system and an Nvidia GTX-970 and a single DisplayPort connection (60hz at full UHD resolution). After about 3 weeks of almost daily use, I'm really happy with the unit. I did not get the version with the Spyder color calibrator. I went with this monitor because I'm a developer and I like lots of contrast and high clarity when using tiny fonts. There is no visible light bleed I can see -- but I am in a fairly well lit room. The brightness levels are even across all regions of the panel. The build quality is very good, especially the ergonomics (height, tilt, swivel). I also really like the on-screen controls, which use touch-sensitive buttons on the bezel. The only negative point or me is the speakers, which are a little less refined than I was hoping for. But the image is spectacular and the viewing angles are great in all directions.
