Amazingly comfortable Annoying Fragile
These are the most comfortable steel-toed boots I have ever worn. 8 hours, 10 hours, 12 hours, my feet hold up. The only reason I am not giving these 5 stars is because they wear out in what I deem to short of a time. Really, they deserve to be 3 stars or less but, Dang! they are sooo comfortable. In regards to the wearing out: I am now on my 3rd pair in two years. The first pair cracked on the right boot exactly where the black rubber part meets the leather. This started at about the 6-7 month stage. By month 8 they were pretty much unwearable. I ordered a 2nd pair hoping it was a fluke and they were on sale...it was not.In between pair 2 and 3 and tried a pair of Ariats. They were terrible on my feet. So, back to the Caterpillars. I managed to catch them on sale again so didn't feel quite so bad.I will update when this 3rd pair start going. They were first worn on April 11th, 2016 so the time is counting down.So in short: Amazingly comfortable, annoying fragile.

decent boot that need some redesign
comfortable boot, waterproof but the toe sucks.to give it 5 stars they need to redesign the toe, that rubber you see has nothing under it. there should be leather under it and the rubber to protect the leather, the rubber cracks after 2 months of use outdoors. and now the composite toe is starting to show through.ok boot if you do warehouse work and never squat, which is where the rubber starts to crack, skip this boot and go for the sheffield boot.i do not recommend this boot.

Will last for 4 months.THATS IT !
I am in the delivery business and just after 4 months of wearing this boots at work ( in normal weather conditions),I got a crack(cut) where the steel toe ends and the throat line of the boot starts, from to much "walking", I believe. Last week the cut was 1/2 inch long, now is getting close to one inch. The out-soles are starting to peel off and I don't stay or walk in the areas with fuel or oils or other chemicals on the ground. To be honest ,I thought that the boots were going to last at least 6 months, but it looks like I will have to buy a different pair by the end of next week(if it will last that long). I forgot to mention that in the first 2 weeks since I bought this boots the inside fabric of the counter was ripping apart. The boots are very comfortable but I wish it will last longer than 4 months.I am very disappointed with Caterpillar for making such a bad product. Too bad I can't upload a photo with the boots,or returned it to amazon. REVIEW UPDATE 02.11.20154 weeks ago I contacted customer service at CAT, expressing my disappointment with their boots. They said to send them photos of the boots with the damages so they could check it out if is a warranty issue or not. I sent ,(email) ,about 27 pics in different angles of the boots and they said to ship the boots to the warranty center in Michigan( I paid the shipping cost).3 weeks later a new pair of CAT work boots was shipped to me. They gave me the choice to pick a different pair of boots ,in case they don't have the same model I bought, in stock ,so I put up a few models that I tried on before at local store. They didn't have the model I send in for warranty review, so they send me another pair "Caterpillar Men's Diagnostic Hi Cut Cap Soft Toe Waterproof Boot". Now I'm happy again and it's good to see that CAT stands by their product quality.

Comfortable but not waterproof
It rained the second day I wore boots. My toes got wet. No other part of feet except toes. Boots only got a little wet. I never walked in water over an inch deep. Pretty comfortable boot but my feet must stay dry. Could be a freak thing but the pair I received were not waterproof.

These boots are waterproof but that's really the only great thing about them
These boots are waterproof but that's really the only great thing about them. I have wide feet and so I ordered the wide version. It has taken almost 4 months to get my feet to where it doesn't hurt all the time. I have large calluses on the outside of both big toes but the real issue was on top of the big toes. Searing pain just about every day, but I tortured myself and persevered. DO NOT ORDER STEEL TOES unless you really need them! Your toes have to conform to the shell not the other way around.Honestly I have to say that I do not recommend these. I am going to have to purchase a non steel toe boot because I bought these from Amazon and used them so I believe that I could never return it. Oh well.

Edited review
Very comfortable and light weight. They look good to boot. Pun intended. ***** rating when first worn.Edit : My original review is accurate. For the left boot. I've had to stop wearing these boots because of issues with the right one. Either there is a manufacturing problem or the steel toe cap is slightly shorter than on the left boot. After about the third wearing, the right boot's steel toe felt very sharp on my foot, leaving blisters and raw skin. Wearing two heavy work socks didn't help either. I'm hoping I'll be allowed to return these to the manufacturer for replacement or refund. I've worn Cat boots for several years and this is the first issue I've had.I'm rather disappointed with this purchase.

Like any shoe
I don't use them too regularly. Like any shoe, it takes some time to stop feeling so stiff, and to start feeling comfortable. This takes longer when you might only wear them 1 day a week (I only use them when I'm doing yard work, so they don't get used that often, and only for a few hours on when I do wear them). That being said, they took me about a month (or 20 hours of use) to get broken in. before that, they felt very stiff, and the tongue would dig into the front of my ankle at a weird angle, and hurt. They feel fine now, and I was able to wear them all day for a fall clean-up without any discomfort.

Ouch!
This is a beautiful work boot. No, that's not an oxymoron! It seems sturdy and the soles really grip. But the steel toes are brutal on my toes. I'm wearing thicker socks and taking out the insole under the toe.If you buy them, wear the boots around the house for a few days to make sure they're comfortable. If not, try a different boot or maybe a slightly larger size.
