I recently replaced my bamboo steamers that I've had for 20+ years. My new steamers are beautiful and so much more sturdy than the ones I had. I expect these to last even longer than my last set. I am buying a couple of more sets as gifts.

Be sure to season it! Look up how to break it in or it will spoil your food the first couple times you use it. After that it is great. Comes with liners and chop sticks which is nice.

I purchased this bamboo steamer on September 2020. It’s not even a year and is already broken. I tried to fix it myself but it’s really hard to put it back together.

This steamer arrived and as soon as I pulled it out of the plastic, the smell of some sort of strong adhesive (literally, it smells like wood glue) hit me.Soap and water did nothing for the smell.I have a giant pot that I could submerge the whole thing in, so I boiled it twice (fresh water each time) and that got most of the smell away.However, there's still a slight adhesive smell. I'm hoping that allowing it to dry and making boiling it again will help, but I'm generally not keen on the idea of food that smells like wood glue, so I'm not sure if it's salvageable.It's got two stars because at least it survived being submerged and boiled; there are ties and joints that aren't adhesive-based that seem to be holding fine. So like, if you're using it for not-food, I guess it's fairly sturdy. But its purpose is for cooking food, and again, wood glue dumplings sound gross.
