Really good longevity
Takes a while to get going (not excessively long), but once its going, they burn for a long time. Consistent heat

Check it is appropriate for your intended use
I made a mistake and did not check the suitability of the logs for my fire pit. They don't burn properly in a fire pit. My Error.I am sure they are great for bbqs etc, but not for my intended purpose.

Really high quality charcoal
This is great charcoal. I used it in my pizza oven with some added wood and it burns hot, with a good burn time. The blocks are easy to use too. There are a lot of comments about it being hard to light. It's not - you just need a BBQ starter chimney and a couple of eco-lighters underneath. If you do this, it lights easily first time, every time, with no chemicals.I'll definitely buy more of this.

They don’t burn.
Really hard to light. They smoke and then go out. Waste of time and money.

Last good value binchotan boxes 5kg
This fuel is more expensive now, but these half size boxes are still cheap for the excellent value and super high heat IR cooking output. Must use a fire cage to light properly. Will stay as solid blocks when burning red hot, so movable. When used, you can quench in bucket of water for re use next time. Will burn for 4 hours. I use many types of this fuel but like marmite (love/hate).

Not great for low and slow.
I tried these for low and slow cooking but didn't get on with them. They do burn for a long time just not very hot, they now get broken up and mixed with my Webber briquettes.

Best Charcoal, highly recommended
This is simply the best charcoal for a barbeque. Burns for ages, even after I sprayed it with water, nice large chunks, not smoky but just enough to flavour. Like good traditional charcoal it's need at least 1/2mins to catch fire(used B&Q Diall fire lighters cubes) and then a bit of fanning to light it up. The bad reviewers clearly don't know how to light charcoal. Highly recommended.
