Q: How loud is it compared to a leaf blower?

It's definitely quieter than a leaf blower but it is still a little loud. It has a high velocity hum to it.

Q: Will it pick up dog waste?

Not if the waste is fresh. Would need to be weeks old prior to using the vac.

Q: does it vacuume leaves etc from sidewalks ?

Yes, it has great suction power for the sidewalk as well. It's a great vacuum.

Q: Will this turf vac adequately pick up dog hair? i have four fluffy norwegian elkhounds and over 1800 sqft of turf. leaf blower doesnt cut it.

No, it will not, unfortunately. We had a Great Pyrenees and 3 Australian Shepherds. There is hair all over the turf, but we found that we use this special large rake now that has small tines on one end, large times on the other. This will take the dog hair and leaves nicely, but it’s manual. This vac is great for sucking up the leaves though!
