Pioneer CDIV202AV AppRadio Mode VGA Interface Cable Kit for iPhone 5

The cable was not hard to hook up at all but it does take a software update on the pioneer unit in order for the cable to be compatible. Its not hard to use but it takes way to long set up every time you get in and out of your car, plus you have to download all different kinds of apps for music, gps, and whatever else you want to use in order for it to work. Each app needs to be up and running on your iphone for it to work on the device and every time you want to switch apps you have to switch them on your phone. It wont let you switch them for the screen which takes to long while driving. It is a cool extra accessory to have, but it is not worth the money or the time to mess with while driving. It would be better with the emergency brake bypass switch but without that its pointless. I have not yet bought the bypass switch myself so I don't even use the cable. At the end of the day it was a waste of money for me.

If you have the Pioneer Avic-5200nex you do not need this for CarPlay. This is only for Video i.e.: YouTube, or other streaming apps. All you need for CarPlay is the USB and the pioneer USB Lightning cable plugged into usb1 and you will be all good.

If I could give NO STARS to this product, I would! First, you have to buy additional parts to install it (including an adapter for your phone which is almost as expensive as the device) and second, it only works with some specific apps that you need to download into your i-phone, plus the video quality is not good. I definitely DO NOT recommend this item... you will loose your money.

So I got the Pioneer 7500BT Radio, I saw that you could get appradio on it and wanted it. then I noticed you needed to buy this device AND an apple cable which was like 50 dollars on top of that to work. I'm one of those people who is willing to pay IF IT WORKS! then the lightning cable was too short, so then I also ended up buying a jive cable, 30 more dollars (also ordered on amazon) only to get a "usb incompatible" message, then I looked at the reviews here and saw that someone posted that you have to change the "RGB Input" and so I did, after following the instructions after changing the RGB input it worked! It worked! It worked! and man is it worth it, if your patient and willing to pay extra IT DOES WORK, just be ready for a few minor headaches. Just change the settings!

Worked but espouse is not cable problem the screen resolution diminish with the 5 and 6, compared with the 4s. Thinks is the radio and Pioneer solution in general.
