Perfect for trumpeters with braces.
I purchased this mouthpiece for my trumpet student who recently had braces. It's soft enough so it won't hurt when he's playing. The tone is softer. But, it will train him not to press hard on his emboucher. It's a good practice mouthpiece.

What A Great Mouthpiece Addition !
As far as choice for lead mouthpiece, I think this is great design, so smooth on lips and actually nice warm middle range as well. Mpc warms up immediately when I use this for cold weather condition. Trumpet holding balance was bit strange because it’s so light that I feel trumpet is heavy on the bell but I get used to quickly. When I compare to Yamaha Eric Miyashiro 1, 14A4a, 13A4a, Bob Reeves 42SV69 and many Monette lead pieces, surprisingly this is new great addition for lead playing. I tested in my living room so not sure about sound projection and loudness in large ensemble situations but for my ear and lips, this goes up on the list. Especially when I switched from Yamaha Bobby Shew Jazz mpc, did not need usual extra effort for lip adjustment. It just plays well balanced by itself.I appreciate Kelly to make this one available with this super reasonable price. It’s just my opinion.

Great for marching band
I got this for marching season and I love it. It really helps save chops and allows me to play higher longer. My only complaint is that you need to refine your sound if you want to play this during the show. I had a friend get it and they sounded like they were playing the kazoo.Another thing is that if you are getting this for marching band, get your school's color. This really messed me up and I almost bought another.

Very playable
I ordered this mute with no explanations. I was merely curious because I had never played with one. Got it today. Surprise! It plays very easily and the intonation is good (in all registers). I have no problem, even playing as softly as possible, and even "whisper tones." I got one for flugelhorn and just received it. I LOVE IT! It plays just as nice as this trumpet mute.

Wonderful product! Wish I had this years ago!
Product arrived quickly! Thanks! I've had it for about two months now. The Screamer is wonderful! I've always had a hard time hitting a high G, but now...! I think I actually hit a double high C the other day! I played in high school, and play at my church once in a while, and I wish I had this back in the day! - Amazing! There is a very slight loss in the fullness of the sound, but if you're not listening very carefully when switching back and forth between my 7C Kelly & this one, you wouldn't know it. The lower notes are a little harder to hit, but not impossible. I did try a 3C Kelly, and I like it, but it doesn't perform like this one. Last point - you do not have to warm these up - I wish I had these on those cold Friday night football games! Wonderful product!

I'm blown away
I would be shocked, except plastic doesn't conduct electricity, so I'll go with amazed! I don't know where folks get off saying they get a cheap sound. Don't be blaming this mouthpiece if your lips aren't up to the job. This thing is fantastic. It's smooth and comfortable. I would use it to replace my Schilke 13a4a in a heartbeat, and I love that mouthpiece. I was hoping to replace my Yamaha Bobby Shew, but Bobby still has this one beat for screaming. The Kelly is not quite as shallow, although it still provides a great deal of support. If Jim Kelly ever comes out with a Super Screamer you can bet I will be the first in line to buy it.Well done!
