Perfect in every way
I bought the larger unit, and while it worked fine, the size was an issue for me, so I ordered this one. I am so glad I did. This is the perfect tens unit: Small, powerful and able to accommodate four double electrode wires.It fits comfortably in my pocket (small enough to stay there and not hobble me when I bend over).It has the same programming as the larger model. The only difference is that it is not indicated on the unit, so you do need to memorize your favorite settings. This isn’t an issue, as I doubt most people would regularly change once they determine what works best for them. The timer sets up to 80 minutes. It uses 3 AAA batteries, and if you have the unit on most of the time (for those bad days) it should last ~3 days. Cheap, store brand batteries do not last any less long with this than name-brand batteries, so just stock up when the drugstore has a sale. (Or get rechargeable batteries, but they seem to last only a day per charge.)There is a door on this unit that covers the power and programming buttons. This is fantastic, as I have a tendency to either knock the power button and turn it off, or hit the programming buttons with other units. No more. They took care of this for me.I bought this for sciatica, and it is improving every day.

Blown Away by Its Power
I'm absolutely blown away by this device!I was already treating my back pain with a TENS machine. After weeks of failed physical therapy, on a hunch I turned to TENS therapy, and boy did it do wonders. The pain had diminished by about 80% after only one treatment. After only 3 treatments over the course of 3 days, the pain was completely gone, and my back feels so much stronger!So, I am familiar with the benefits of TENS therapy. But the device I was using was older and borrowed. Luckily, I received this device the day I had to return the older one.And WOW! This device is POWERFUL! I would say it's about 4x as powerful as the previous one. With power this l strong, I'm considering experimenting with using it for muscle-building instead of the gym. It also has so many "massage" options--16, to be exact. I've only had the chance to play with half.I am absolutely ecstatic with this device. I will never hesitate to recommend it to others living with back or muscle pain where other therapies have failed them.

Works !
This works. For me, this is not some pain removal miracle but it does help. I use this for chronic knee pain from RA and damage from an accident couple years ago. I have used this for a little over a week for 1 hour at a time 2-4 times a day and it has greatly reduce my level of pain. I had to play around with pad placement to get the best results. The batteries have lasted far longer than I expected. The device is good quality and for the price I cannot complain. I ordered more pads from Amazon of different sizes but the ones provided have been working great. I am still using the first 8 I opened and 2 of them are just starting to not want to stick very well even though i paced and removed them a lot trying to find proper placement. This device has plenty of power, it is comparable to the units i was treated with in physical therapy. It may not go as high as the professional devices but is more than what I need. I have also started using this for other areas between knee treatments and has worked great for stiff shoulders and back.

To good to be true, is true sometimes.
I hate writing reviews and often simply refuse to do it, but I am so impressed with this Pulse Pain Relief Device that I decided it was the least I could do for the company. I have had a shoulder rotator cuff repair surgery. My physical therapist put me on ice and digital pulse pain relief at the end of each PT session. The electric shock felt so good that I asked about getting one for home use. My PT actually said to look on amazon. I could not be more pleased. I was fearful that a battery operated one would not be able to provide enough power. I was VERY wrong. I only use this device at a level 4 to get the same effect as the one at physical therapy. Works great, perfect size.
This is my second healthmate TENS unit. The previous model that was shaped like a tv remote proved awkward to use comfortably. The exposed buttons were always being pushed, and the settings were getting messed up. The plastic clip broke, and it was too cumbersome to put in a pocket. This model solves all those problems. The buttons are covered, the belt clip is metal, and it is about the size of a pack of cigarettes, so it fits nicely in a pocket. Both units have resolved my chronic nerve pain, and I have been able to stay off all pain meds since I’ve started using it. Also, I use if every day for at least 12 hours and the batteries last just about a month. You can’t beat this unit for the price.

Powerful little unit
This little gem is AMAZING, I never expected it to be this powerful. If there was one negative, it would be not having a a continuous setting...with that said, the available settings work great on my lower back, nearly instant relief. Also, this unit is incredibly small, picture about 10 credit cards stacked together...but this is actually a good thing if you're active, fits nicely in any pocket. The fact that it's rechargeable is an added bonus.
