Gourmia GIC200 Multifunction Digital Portable 1800 Watt Induction Cooker Cooktop Countertop Burner with SmartSense Auto Detection, Timer, Temperature and 8 Power Level Controls - 110V

I'm considering the purchase of an induction stove, and wanted to try an induction hotplate to see how such an appliance would work for me. I like this hotplate very much, because it cooks so speedily and efficiently. Today I steamed two large artichokes in about a quart of water; the cooking time was about half of what it usually takes on my conventional electric stove. Yesterday I used the hotplate to heat up soup, and sauté vegetables in a cast-iron wok. Those tasks also confirmed its speed and the efficiency. The controls are easy to use and understand, but the operating instructions are poorly written--translated from Chinese, most likely.At this point, I don't know if I would want an induction cooktop (mainly because I'd have to buy a lot of new cookware), but it's clear to me that having the induction hotplate is a great benefit.

So far so good. We have a six burner gas stove that was disconnected while work was being done, this was purchased in the interim. Now I only want to cook on induction! The unit itself function with out incident to date.

Arrived on time and was exactly as described. It was an emergency purchase do my stove going out a few days before Thanksgiving...ugh!It was just what I needed and I will buy from this seller again!

I thought it was not working when I connect it to the surcharge. I realized the surcharge was defective. So I used another of my surcharge andIt really works and it tends to be really hot.I like Gourmia!

Been wanting an induction burner for years...but...Had been holding back because of the cost. My Gourmia arrived a couple of days ago...Have not had time to use it extensively...but...Am excited and quite satisfied by its performance. Bought the bare minimum of cookware to get me started. I hope that a month or 2 from now that I can post a 5 star follow-up review. After weeks of using my Gourmia 200, I'm raising it to 5 stars. It took some juggling...but...with the exception of the turkey, stuffing and sweet potato casserole, all of our Christmas dinner was prepared on it. (Home made cranberry sauce, gravy from scratch and a medley of steamed vegetables took a fraction of the time that my electric stove would have taken) After weeks of heavy use I noticed what I thought were defects on some of the buttons...returned the unit ...and... requested a new 1 of the same model. Today I received a call notifying me that the buttons were fine...I had neglected to peel off the protective sheet covering them. Their customer service department has earned 5 stars for their quick action and patience. They will be sending it back to me.After a year of heavy daily use, my GIC-200 is still a 5 star product. I love it...and...my electric range is gathering dust. The 'new' .lower price is very tempting. I just might buy another to use on my kitchen island.

I did a comparison to gas stove same pot same quantity of cold water etc,,,, semi control condition but not laboratory.product heated water up to vigorous boil over sides of pot in 12 minutes.the gas stove took 24 minutes but never became vigorous or boiled over side of potI think is good value, looks nice

Awesome induction burner! I have had this for a few months and it works great. I found low cost cookware that works with induction at Ikea and have some ceramic coated fry pans from Bed Bath & Beyond, also for induction. This is IMPORTANT - you must have pans that are magnetic on the bottom to work with this. The burner works as promised and does a good job of even cooking. I love it!

Such precise cooking levels, and it heats so evenly throughout the pot’s interior. I tried scrambled eggs and latkas, and with all the forks and ingredients on the countertop, I was glad when the heat automatically shut off once the pot was taken off the surface. No more sticky fingers touching the gas knob! Over and over again, the induction cooker keeps getting used and is the best thing I ever invested in. Definitely recommend the product.

The bad thing about these stoves is that they only recognize some materials to work

Once you read the directions to operate it is wonderful. I like it because you can control the temperature very well especially when you are brewing.

I've used the Gourmia GIC200 Induction Cooktop several times and it works well. I'm amazed at how fast it heats the contents in a pan.

This thing is outstanding. I use it paired with a thermometer in my office for tea & coffee. Bigger than I expected but otherwise excellent.

It functions as expected, but the temperature control range is a bit coarse, nothing between 190, 250, 300. I would have liked finer control, but you can't beat the price.

The provided instructions made it easy to choose the correct setting and then it warmed up very quickly. I like that it has a timed cooking option.

Great appliance for the price. Most induction cook tops are pricy. Cheap cook tops with cast iron cycle on and off and are inconsistent.

Need Metal pan to work. non of my pans work on it

It works well, and doesn’t make noise, heats very fast.
