Perfect kettle!
I couldn’t be happier with my new kettle, which I bought in black after my previous kettle failed (& I couldn’t get the screws out of the plug to check the fuse!) I don’t need a large kettle & usually only make one drink at a time. This arrived in its original packaging & I was delighted to see that Amazon had just stuck the address label on it - not repackaged it into another box & loads of extra packing materials as they have been doing in the recent past. So that’s brilliant - one more step towards carbon neutrality - well done Amazon! So I opened the box & found the kettle to be simply packaged in cardboard with no silly wire ties, polystyrene or unnecessary plastic. Hurray! I removed the kettle in a few seconds, then pressed the button to release the lid & it popped up perfectly. I realised immediately that it’s much, much lighter than my previous kettle which is wonderful as I find my wrists can be weak & painful sometimes & a heavy kettle doesn’t help! I ran a few inches of water from the tap so it was about half full, plugged it in & pressed the on switch. I like that only the on/off switch itself lights up rather than being ridiculously bright as my last two kettles have been. It boiled the water extremely quickly & fairly quietly - it’s not silent, I judge it by whether I need to turn up the volume on my radio, which I had to do to maximum volume for my last kettle! This one got a little noisier for just a few seconds & then boiled. I also like that it doesn’t boil for very long before it switches off. It also pours perfectly. Since then I just boil a couple of cups’ worth of water & it’s light, quick, fairly quiet & pours. There was also no odour or taste from the very first cup. I tried it by making tea with the very first boil & there was nothing, which was excellent.I’m thrilled with my kettle - & the purchasing experience - it was even better than I hoped for, good value for money & it looks great. It stays shiny without having to wipe it. Morphy Richards have certainly earned my brand loyalty & I’ll be sticking with them for other products too. Highly recommended!

Lovely colour, easy to use
I love the new kettle. It’s light, easy to handle and boils quickly. It’s not very noisy either. When refilling I slightly wish the lid would open a little wider but it’s not really an issue. It was great value for money !

Lovely looking kettle but filter a bit naff
Gorgeous looking kettle (Morphy Richards 108268 Jug Kettle Dune, 1.5 liters, Green). The colour is a lovely soft, gentle, sage green - think those paints you get with " a hint of" colour. This would be a hint of soft green. Bought plastic because the black metal kettle I previously had looked a mess after a couple of years - all worn and scratched, always looked dirty even when clean.Has a white light at the base near the switch. The light doesn't light up the water window which is located behind the handle. The water window isn't as clear as my last kettle but is still viewable and perfectly adequate. I don't need a huge window back and front to see how much water's in the kettle. This one looks far more stylish because of the location of the window. It boils quickly and is moderately quiet. It doesn't leak from the base or the lid or anywhere else it shouldn't. I have never experienced any strange, plastic tastes or smells - I did boil it full of water 3 times before using it for drinks though. It has a button at the top of the handle to easily release the lid for filling. It can be filled directly through the spout but it's not the easiest or most efficient way to fill it as the water overflows on anything faster than a slow stream from the tap.Has chrome effect around the base and handle (I say chrome effect because although it's silver and shiny, it feels like plastic to me, but it still looks nice). The only thing I don't think was well thought out is the removable filter. It's plastic not mesh. I think Morphy Richards really skimped unnecessarily here. Most kettles now, whether they're metal or plastic, have fine, mesh filters. The result with this kettle is that the holes are a little on the large side meaning that if you live in a hard water area and have calcium and other mineral deposits in your water, the filter in this kettle may not keep that out. I live in a soft water area so don't have to worry about "bits" in the water and have never found any with this kettle. But I do wonder whether those customers complaining about bits in their drinks live in hard water areas. Just a theory. I personally wouldn't buy it if I lived in a hard water area. I knocked off one star for this fact alone.Apart from that I absolutely love this kettle.

Reliable kettle
Replacement for the same kettle I've just let go after a couple of years of very hard use, mainly due to Covid and my family working from home and we also live in a very hard water area, limescale is terrible.Arrived promptly but was surprised it was delivered just in the kettles' own box with our address label slapped on the side. Thankfully it was well packaged and extra wrapping wasn't necessary. It's a nice looking kettle, is lightweight and boils quietly and quickly. From my past experience it's reliable and leak free, although it sounds like other reviewers have had a problem. Will update if that changes but ok so far.For some unknown reason I've had a problem buying a kettle this time. Bought elsewhere, I had to return one that looked cheap and the second wobbled on it's stand so much it would have been dangerous when filled with boiling water. This should be third time lucky! For the price (£22.95), I don't think you can go too far wrong.Recommended.
