Great little stone
This is a very nice product that everyone that owns a knife should have. This is a tiny natural stone that would easily be carried in your pocket to be used anywhere on the go. Pro tip: use water only with it, as water is found everywhere and once you touch a natural stone with oil, you can never go back to water. Oil may work slightly better, but it's messy and water is free. That being said, the stone is rather small so larger knives would need patience. It comes with a thin leather case to protect your stone while it's being carried. The edges and corners of the stone are rounded so as to not harm a non-professional's knives while being used. Very lightweight. And for your technical information, the stone was cut using probably a 200 grit finish on it, which will need worn off with use. After this break in period of getting beyond that finish, a hard stone like this will get you to about a 1500 grit stone equivalent. So basically, sharpen your cheap knives first for the first couple of runs, and have patience before you get scary razor edges on it. This stone with water doesn't really need soaked, it's more of a splash n go. Just make sure you don't sharpen dry on it, and if you do put it in water and it bubbles, then yes let it soak that water in first until the bubbles go away. The leather case is dry and thin, I plan to add some oil on the case so to keep it lasting me longer. The stone is also one single piece, so you can use either side of it that you choose. If it ever builds up with steel, just take a scratchy soap pad to it like you're washing dishes the old fashioned way. As far as price, I feel that this is a bit expensive, but it should last you a lifetime.

Top quality stone!
What a beautiful stone! Cut perfectly with sharp edges at exactly 45 degrees and all surfaces are perfectly flat. All corners come to a sharp point with zero chips. I am using this stone along with Dan's "Translucent Arkansas" stone (for polishing) on a few 1911 trigger jobs. The stone is large enough to easily smooth the sides of parts such as hammers, sears, even a trigger bow before polishing with Dan's extra fine translucent stone. It takes a perfect 45 degree cut of a stone to smooth & polish hammer hooks, these stones can do that too! Make sure to use a light, clear oil when working. Wipe clean and reapply often. (I use Birchwood Casey "Sheath / Barricade" works great!) For only $13 this is not a stone, it's a steal. My next Amazon order I will be purchasing one in medium. (only $10!!!!) The cool leather pouch is a nice touch too.

This tool is great for a light weight option for touch up your tools in the backcountry.
I took this stone with me on a short weekend trip into the backcountry. It was an awesome little stone and was very useful for touching up my blade. The only downside is the size, some of the strokes can come a little to close to your fingers. I recommend using gloves if you are going to use this tool. In the end this tool is great for sharing small to medium sized knives.

High Quality Stone
Perfect size for keeping in your pocket or pack to touch up knives in the field. Easily makes a razor-sharp edge on all the knives I've tried it on. High quality, Worth every penny!

Every kit needs at least one
Great little stone and this is the second I have purchased. I just used it to put an edge on a Cold Steel AUS8 blade, after using it fairly extensively on a recent camping trip. Although AUS8 is not terribly impressive, it took a decent edge using this stone and nothing else. As with sharpening any knife, it takes patience and a consistent angle. This stone is relatively small and not really designed for table top sharpening. Put one in your pack or gear and it will do the job, every time. These stones are made for sharpening knives, not re-profiling the blades. If you have chipped or damage your knife blade, this is not the tool to use to repair it. If you're trying to correct flaws in a the grind or angle of your knife blade, this isn't the tool to use.

Good stone, portable and works well. Would be better with a working block. Nice leather case.
Used this couple of times and it works great, puts a nice sharp edge on my knife, and is convenient to carry in my pack, or in your pocket. I used remington rem gun oil and it seemed to work fine, only thing is you gotta be careful not to cut your fingers, or make some king of holder for it but it does the job and does it well.

Perfect for pocket knives
I use this stone to sharpen my pocket knives (mainly my Case stockman) and I love it. It fits perfect in your pocket and stores anywhere discreetly which is perfect when your out in the woods performing small tasks. With just a little bit of lubricant (I usually use spit or wd40) I can put a pleasingly sharp edge on my knives. Just remember that this is a smaller stone so if your looking to sharpen some larger bushcraft/hunting knives then I would recommend getting a larger stone.

It’s a good piece of kit
A dull knife is damn near useless. This wetsone puts a really good edge on my knives. It’s small enough for every day carry, to me that means it’s there when I need it to be.
