Poor Quality, incredibly overpriced, lousy company
what a disappointment... terribly poor quality, made in CHINA (?!) and the zipper broke on the second day... a complete waste of my money... I will NEVER buy another pair of Frye boots EVER... a terrible waste of my hard earned cash.Edit: After a couple of weeks of owning these horrible boots, I still have worn them only a handful of times. Both zippers have now broken... which I suppose is fine, they never worked anyway...My level of disgust with this company is beyond my ability to express. I called them to let them know of the issues and got the typical snide customer service you'd expect from a 20 year old in New York, where the company is located.Horrible product... terrible buying experience. Also, the "great American boot" is made in China.

Deeply Disappointed in Frye for Made in China, but Amazon QR code return amazing
I have one phenomenal pair of Frye's, so I bit when I saw the sale price on these. Color is "m'eh" nothing to write home about, fit was ok, and I decided to return them. However - as I was packing them up I noticed where they were made. It's tough enough to support the "home team" when companies offshore boots to Mexico - where my other Frye's were made, but - honestly - CHINA? - mmmmNOPE...made my return decision even easier. That said - the QR code system Amazon now has for returns was the easiest thing ever, just handed boots in their box, with no extra labeling, to the clerk at the local Amazon Bookstore, he scanned the code, and the money was back in my cc account before I got to the car. Great customer service.

Poor quality
I bought these Frye men's Sam harness boot (size 12) February 11th 2019 and have walked less than 30 miles in them. They have already torn at the seams and the sole is chipping away. This is a $ 300 boot made by a brand I trust and know to be a high quality manufacturer who pride themselves on making long lasting products. It looks like a bad a$$ boot but they're about as durable as hotel slippers. I would encourage the seller to contact me and encourage all would be buyers to choose another boot.

Another good Frye boot.
Another good pair of boots from Frye. I’m a fan of Frye boots, I now own 6 pairs of them. They are of good quality for the price you pay. I usually keep a wish list with a couple pairs of them, then wait until a sale to buy them. Sometimes the price drops 40% of the retail cost. I like the fact that Frye is an old American company. I think most their manufacturing (but not all) has moved to Mexico, but all American companies are doing that.As for this particular boot, this is the second “Sam Harness” boot I have purchased. The one I just bought was the black one, the first one I got was a swede tan boot. The “Sam” model is a little bit narrower than their other boots. If you have wide feet and ankles I wouldn’t recommend this pair. As you can see from the picture the sole is made of part rubber and part leather. I generally don’t like leather soles because they don’t have good grip, I usually take them to a cobbler and have them put rubber soles on. On this pair I didn’t have to do that, but front tip of the sole is made of leather and I can feel a slight slip when I walk. But as the leather breaks in, that slight slip goes away and the grip is ok. Overall a good boot that should last.If anyone from Frye reads this, please make your boots with more colors. You usually have black and some dark browns. After a couple years the brown ones slightly darken. I believe leather does that natural but if you find a way to make them more color fast it would be great. Please could you make more lighter brown colors, maybe some gray and dark blue colors. I want to get more pairs but I can’t justify having boots of all the same color.

About month of wear - heels started to separate and click
Great leather and fit, actually was really happy with these until after about a month of wear, the heels both seem to have started moving just a bit and "click" when you press down on them. Something in the back of the heel assembly is started giving out. Since I am out of return warranty I'll see if manufacturer (Frye) will honor replacement or repair.

Frye me up some new boots! Im hongry!
Let me start by saying, my last pair of Frye's were by far the best pair of footwear I've ever owned. 5 years of non stop wear. I literally walked around NYC 20 miles in one day and I might as well been wearing some dad status New Balances. These... are not the same boots. They're fine. They look lovely. And at $150 bucks they were worth it. But its very obvious that these are not the Hecho En Mexico boots that I bought before. The quality of these particular boots are closer to Aldo or Steve Madden than that of a pair of premium Frye's so I would bare that in mind when making this purchase. Overall... Good, not great. Perfectly Serviceable. Expected a little more.

Excellent shoes, but wait to get them on sale
I own two pairs of these boots - one I have had for approximately a year, and one that I somewhat recently purchased while on sale. They have worn in wonderfully! I recently had the rubber heel caps replaced on my everyday pair - otherwise, they are in great condition. I was hesitant to buy import Frye boots, but these are made well and from quality leather.I even took these on a two week backpacking trip, and they held up. After a little mink oil, they were right back to work appropriate.

The quality is poor. Numerous dents and scuffs in the leather sole
The quality is poor. Numerous dents and scuffs in the leather sole. The boots look like they are unfinished. The leather is advertised as french with italian tanning, but the overall quality appears to be poor. I had to recondition the leather to avoid its ashy color. On the positive the boots are very comfortable, but I would not buy again knowing what I know now.
