Our oldest (5) is crazy about microbiology already. This was a perfect big brother gift. The pictures are gorgeous & he's loving reading & learning about microscopic life that is uncommonly spoken about, then sharing his new knowledge with others. We cannot wait to buy the rest of the set. I do wish there were a few more in the set that focused on microbiology.

I came across the discovery of Archaea many times in my reading but never really got to know much about the subject. I was really on square one so to speak. This book was perfect for my needs, beautiful illustrations and photos all with great explanations AND most of the new words had a phonetic pronunciations so you can learn how to say these new words. I couldn't have asked for anything better to get me started with the subject of Archaea. Also many references to other books and websites if one wishes to learn more. Perfect for me but as another reviewer said it is fairly basic.

Well made, beautiful pictures, reasonly pedagogical, and as far as I can see, up to date.However, it is intended for students. I would have liked it to go a bit further.

The book arrived in good order and in a timely manner. It was as described. Nice outline of the subject. Good visuals.

Don't worry about this book being too deep. It is just about right for a young mind to understand. My grandson found it perfect for him.

This series is unlike any other. Though a bit too high a reading level for many of my students, this is a great resource for kids and teachers alike. Good coverage of the subject.
