I had an extended cup for an older camera, so when I upgraded my system to a Sony, which has the smallest eye cup I have ever seen I knew what I needed.This is comfortable and offers a much better light blocker when using the evf.Get one you won't be disappointed

I found the Sony OEM eyepieces on A7, A9 and A1 bodies a bit shallow to block out light. For day-long events, my upper eye socket (just below my eyebrow) would be sore from pressing the camera eyepiece into it.These extended eyepieces are a softer material and - as per the description - noticeably deeper than the OEM ones. They're shaped to "wrap around" your eye more and do a much better job at blocking external light. As a result, I'm not pulling the camera into my eye socket as hard and so no longer experience the discomfort with OEM ones for day-long event.Side effect of the deeper eyepiece is that is slightly blocks the tilting LCD screen (A9 and A1) when shooting low angle. So I now need to make a tiny extra effort to also pull the screen away from the body, which wasn't the case with the OEM eyepiece.If you never/rarely use the EVF, this eyepiece isn't necessary. But for EVF shooters, highly recommended.

Bought to replace a shorter eyepiece that kept falling off. This is a tight fight, with benefit of a longer, soft eyepiece. 5*

As a spectacle wearer I find difficulty in using the regular eyepieces so bought this to replace the original on an EOS 5D mkIII and now also swap it over to a 7D mkII. I currently shoot mainly sports - Britball - and can fire off anything from 750 to 2000 images per fixture. I find it more comfortable than the original and it just leaves one less thing to bother about. There‘s also the wee bonus of fewer nose marks on the rear screen, though that particular issue isn‘t completely solved. I love it and will be ordering another to save swapping from body to body.

Although adding this eyepiece creates a slight obstruction to opening and closing the digital viewfinder, I find it more comfortable as I wear glasses. As it’s made of rubber one can just push it up slightly in order to close the viewfinder.

It's a proper upgrade from the original. But it should be softer. Maybe a version with even more rubber, slightly bigger eye-piece is what they should have done. Quality as good as original

Really good however its hard to flip the screen out since hangs over the screen of the x-s10. Its fine if you plan on using viewfinder only
