The only review you'll need to read
*** I owned the same Cortech Sport design for more than three years ***Comparison:1- Improved design over the Cortech Sport original tail bag. The Viking's has interior hard shells on the sides and passanger side (opposing side to the handle) that keeps the shape and makes it sturdier. Cortech's does not, and does not keep shape if you put some other thing with a net on top of the bag.2- the mounting base is just amazingly well constructed (pictures later): Cortech's original was just a neoprene with velcro, that after 1 year practically crumbled to pieces...this one has an internal soft material, covered by the same Cordura material as the rest of the bag, with a very hard rubber on the bottom that looks it will take a nuclear blast, all well stitched and with elastic pockets for the male buckles to hide away if you are not using the bag with the matching saddle bags. (YES, they are male buckles because you use the bungee cords to attach the bag to the bike, not the buckles!) This base is attached with very thick Velcro you have to put muscle to tear off, and also serves to sandwich-hide the bungees when carrying the bag with your hand (very comfortable) or the very well made shoulder strap.3- talking about the bungee cords, they are thicker and far more resistant than Cortech's which makes the bag waaay less wobbly, only if you grab it hard and pull the bag it will shift but goes right back to position if you let go. Cortech's new design has buckles that makes it a bit difficult to fit the bag on certain bikes, you never go wrong with bungees that you can circle, loop and pass over/under small spaces. The hooks are thicker than regular bungee hooks so they will last long. Another used posted that he covered them with electric tape to avoid scratches, good idea.4- internally all soft material, wont scratch your belongings, and the internal upper flap has an organizer with so many pockets and zippers that I do not know what to do with all those! It even has a large zipper behind the organizer to store your papers and documents you do not want to fold very too small.5- unzip the extensions and I can carry additional shoes (even ankle-high boots), full rain gear in its own bag, lunch bag and other stuff. it grows huge! When it rains I take the rain suit and stuff-in my motorcycle jacket, all bulky and no problem!6- Cordura material can take a light rain with no problems, but it also has a very thick rain cover, way much thicker than Cortech's. It also comes much bigger than the bag, so you could easily attach something with a net over the bag and then cover the entire thing with the rain cover...(don't go too much crazy, though.) It has an elastic cord at the bottom to secure it around the base of the bag so it will not blow away at speed.7- if you look closely at the pictures, the side-pocket zippers end next to a "triangle" of the same cordura material: the zipper itself extends behind it, so I stitched off the side of the triangle, which actually did not need the stitching as it is well stitched top and bottom, and now the zipper-pulls hide away behind them...great!!!8- the only thing is that it does not have reflective piping as stated on the description. Cortech's logos were reflective, so kuddos for them, yeeeey! I cannot select 4.999% stars, so the review goes by 5 stars. So far it has proven way better than the original Cortech's design that has been taken out for a more rounded (and expensive!) design...do not waste your money, buy from Viking's.

I like it. I like it a lot
I like it. I like it a lot. I can't speak much to durability because I haven't had it very long. However, it seems to be built from sturdy, quality materials. If it holds up to sunlight I will give it 5 stars The zippers are smooth and there are two ways to attach it to the bike; integrated bungie cords AND web straps. It ain't goin' nowhere! Weirdly, though, the four web straps each terminate with male buckles. I don't know what that's about but I'm sure someone does. You can build your own female-female strap to connect the male ends together and get the length you want. Just take the bag with you to make sure you get he right size buckle to match. I actually had my wife sew a female buckle on the opposite end of each straps so I could snap them together directly without a union strap and buckle. The integrated bungie cords criss-cross under the bag. They are of a good, strong diameter and ample in length. A velcro flap is included that can be used to secure the cords out of sight if you don't want to use them. The bag is semi-rigid and largely keeps it's shape even when empty. The center section of the bag enlarges. Nice. The side pockets are ample enough. In one I had four pairs of glasses in hard cases. In the other three chargers, a flashlight, keys, a map, etc. Aesthetically, I like the wedge shape -- it compliments the shape of the bike tapering to the rear as it sits on the seat or tail rack. The carrying handle is sturdy and strong with a comfortable rubber grip. All in all this is a great utility pack for carrying everything from a few groceries to riding gear. At $39 it's kind of a no brainer.

Great bag!
I originally ordered this bag to use when travelling on my 2007 Yamaha FJR1300 as I don’t have the factory top case and need more space on trips. I have found it so useful it stays on the tail all the time. Except last weekend when I used it as a rear seat bag on my ’13 Kawasaki Voyager for a 4-day rally at the Iron Horse Lodge in Robbinsville, NC. I know, not a sport bike, or even sporty but it fit. This bag holds a lot of stuff when expanded. I keep the shoulder strap in one side and the rain cover in the other. The handle and zippers are sturdy even when loaded heavy, this bag is really well made. I packed a pair of Olympia Motosport Ranger pants w/armor along with extra gloves, my travel humidor and a quart of, well, never mind. On the inside of the lid there are 3 zippered pockets and a couple loops for carrying smaller items and the inside of the bag is one large area. I Got caught in the rain about 1.5 hours without the rain fly on and the outside top was damp but nothing inside was wet. I later added the cover and had no water issues in a very wet weekend. The fit of the rain cover which is just a drawstring sack that slips over the bag and tightens the hem. This leaves a lot of slack which would catch a lot of air if not managed with a bungee net or something. Riding on the backseat of my Voyager it was mostly out of the wind so I had no problem, but on the FJR… I’ll keep a net around just in case. The bag attaches via 2 captured bungee cords which crisscross under the bag and or 4 straps w/quick release buckles. I was able to use both systems on my FJR, the straps held it in place and the bungees tightened it down. The bungees are mounted through grommets to the bottom of the bag and covered by a flap of the bag material sewn on one end and Velcro on the other to open. The strap system is a bit clunky but works. The strap & male side of the buckle, including the length adjuster, is sewn to the bottom of the bag. The female side of the buckle is mounted to a removeable flap which is connected to the bottom of the bag with more Velcro. The 4 clips are inside loops of elastic connected to the card. Making it awkward to disconnect. The clips on my bag do not have enough slack in the strap to allow them to be slip out of the elastic which would make it much easier to connect and remove. Once mounted though, this thing sits nicely and never wandered side to side, stayed right where I put it for weeks at a time.Overall, this is a very well made tail bag and I expect to get many thousands of miles out of it hauling my crap, recommended!
