Puget sound area. We got all kinds of oysters. I like getting the big ones for frying and my last shucker snapped in half. Inspiring me to upgrade to something I hope never will.Notes. It opens 3.5 inch plus oysters effortlessly. Then to scrape the scallop releasing the shell is a breeze. All of my damaged shells or meet are user error. Not the knife itslef. I love the heft. I'm a big guy and it fits in my hand like it's meant to be. There is a bend to it. Which I like, but I suspect I can break it if I wanted to, but it only will break if I'm not paying attention or trying. If your in food service. Maybe not the best bet. Only cause oysters in a restaurant seem to be on the edge of being to small. So I carry a backup little one for the line. But on the beach at your favorite park. Show it off.

I bought the knife because it looked very durable, but I learned that it is not the correct oyster knife to use on certain species of oysters commonly found long coastal Delaware Maryland and Virginia, the knife is better suited for use with oysters from the Gulf of Mexico and other places, the East Coast oysters have very soft shells and the shells just break, but oysters from other areas will have firmer shells and this knife should work very well.

Well packaged. Arrived quickly. The tip was dull, did some sharpening there. OK, shucked a dozen oysters. Works quickly, no slips, got in the gap and cut the tendon quickly. Pries well and nice in the hand. Very controllable. Finished the job pretty darn quick. no issues with the knife.Pros: Beautiful handle, heavy, nice guard to protect the blade. Made to PRY with.Cons: No edge on the tip, unfinished and rough. About 1/16 of an inch flat edge all the way. .

Cut my knuckle pretty good with an old pocket knife and never again. This thing is a beast and makes short of shucking. It’s well made and will last forever. It’s not cheap but neither was my medical bill for my finger. You get what you pay for with this product. I have their cheese knife set and large block of kitchen knives both sold here on Amazon. Very happy with Dalstrong products.

Nope. Built like a tank but can't shuck an oyster. Blade is too wide too thick and won't fit in the oyster hinge. I tried it gave up and went back to the one that was free from hooter. Spent the money thinking it would last forever but if it can't open an oyster what's the point. I ordered the toad fish oyster knife. I hope it's better

Well made, good guard. Just to thick to easily get into oysters.

This thing is a beast. Very heavy, sturdy and easy to grip and use. Great purchase. Looks good too!
