I couldn't get the tip sleeve to thread on...
I had to take the front end off the iron and shorten the element's metal support tube down 3/16 inch, or so, in order to get the soldering tip to drop down onto the element enough to allow the tip sleeve's treads to connect with the threaded body of the iron. Perhaps it was a random manufacturing error, but I found it a bit disheartening.

UPDATED: UNtil it literally fell apart sitting. | Works great on my Kendal 898D+
The entire tip fell off. The plastic holding it... literally melted. Dropped the tip and shaft (hot) onto my table while warming up. Was at 480c... didn't last a week.Listing didn't specifically say 898D...but the connection looked the same and it works fine!Save me 10 bucks and 3 weeks of shipping vs the one that actually listed the 898D.
