Incredibly warm gloves, even in Wisconsin winters.
I sized up as others suggested, and am glad I did. I am normally a size 8 in gloves, but bought a 9, and the fit is good. They are just a hair loose, but for winter gloves I like that. I can easily fit a liner underneath if I wanted to.These gloves are truly fantastic as far as warmth goes! With 40g of Thinsulate, they are toasty warm. I'm living in Wisconsin right now, so I don't mess around when it comes to keeping warm. I was at the barn for 3 hours in single-digit temps with windchills at least 10 below, and my hands stayed nice and warm. As it drops further, I'll pop some hand warmers in - since I sized up, there's room to do that!As far as dexterity goes I am also incredibly impressed. I was able to fully groom and tack my horse with no issues, including buckle the bridle. The grippy palm is VERY nice, and makes tacking much easier. Holding the reins was fine and they didn't slip at all, but I did notice it was a bit challenging to feel the reins from the padding. If you ride a horse that is more of a rein ride you may need to spend some time getting used to it, but since my guy hardly needs any rein, I'm not worried about it.The only thing I can't comment on yet is durability, but I'm sure I'll find out!

Somewhat disappointing
I was looking for some gloves that were lightweight, waterproof, and warm for use during the cold New England winters. I was initially impressed with the appearance and feel of the SSG 10 Below Winter Glove. I take size 9 1/2 and ordered size 10 which fit fine. They have 40 grams of Thinsulate for insulation and are made in China. I first used them to dig my car out of 24 inches of snow and huge snow drifts. They felt great, kept my hands warm and dry (at least from the outside). After a half hour or so I took one of them off so I could take my cell phone out. My hands rarely perspire and when I tried to pull my hand out of the glove if took some effort since my hand was moist and stuck to the inner lining. Later, putting the glove back on was an effort because the lining was moist. I still like the gloves but could only rate them 4 stars because of the perspiration issue. If they only used another lining material that wicks moisture away, they would be perfect. If you don't mind having to let them dry out overnight, I would still recommend. Good gloves for the money. Gore-tex would solve the moisture buildup but would double the price of the gloves.

SSG 10 Below Glove
I gave this a 4 star as I only plan to use this for my son during year end holidays in some countries having winter so I have not tested if it is really water proof. I have bought some 3 pairs of winter ski gloves for my 10 year old boy but none of them fits his hand. It is either the wrist area is too tight for his hands to enter or the fingers in the gloves is too long for his pinkies. I am not too sure of this glove material. It feels like elastic material that is soft and can slip in easily. It states 40grams Thinsulate for the inner lining and my son first response was it was very warm inside when he first tried it. As the material is slightly stretchable I find the fit very good and comfortable. It is made in China but the quality is pretty good.

Good gloves, but just too small. If you are not an equestrian, order very large size.
I find these gloves very warm. But they are much too small. I ordered the size 6, thinking they would be big enough for me for daily use. (I am NOT an equestrian and just want good solid gloves for my daily winter commute!) I'm barley 5 feet tall and 105 lbs. My hands are small. Ordering what I would call a "medium" size 6 should have been fine. However, when I wear my rings, it pinches the ring into my skin and I wind up with indentation marks. I would order again but I would try a size 8 instead..On the plus side, I do find them nice and warm, and not bad looking. They seem durable.

Warm, but not at 10 Below
The 'waterproof' statement is true; however, there's a bit of untruthfulness to the term "10 Below." My hands are officially cold when wearing them at the freezing mark -- that's why the four stars instead of five. Other than that, they are very warm and comfortable to wear. The waterproof statement is true; they are great when filling up a water trough should you happen to dunk your hand during that time. I recommend them for all types of work around the barn, among the horses, and chores you need to do during the winter months.

I would return them if I could
Based on the reviews I thought these would be perfect for riding in the New England winter. Nope. They weren't as warm as the SSG leather ones, they were very clumsy to ride in, the fit was odd (the finger length was good but the palm portion was truncated so the cuff started on my proximal palm making an odd fit with an irritating line of stitching across my palm- and this is even sizing up to 6.5 when my usual glove size is 6). Then the kicker- I find them impossible to take off without inadvertently turning the separate inner glove layer inside out, and its both annoying and time consuming to try to stuff every finger back into place to put them back on. Every time I take them off, it takes me 10 minutes to get the inner lining back in to the point where I can put them back on! I wore them once to ride so I can't return them, but I strongly recommend against them. There are warmer and nicer gloves available.

A great rider's glove for winter riding.
I use them when exercising racehorses and they are great at keeping your hands warm. I haven't been able to test the waterproofing yet. They come with elastic keepers that go around your wrist which means you can take them off but not drop them when adjusting tack.

Great gloves!
Excellent gloves for warmth and keeping dry. A couple of comments - get a size larger than you usually wear - I did and for my partner - they fit just right. Also, when you take them off, take care to pinch the tip of the fingers to make sure the inner lining doesn't pull out from the outer lining - I did this the first time and it took ages to get it back.

Waterproof gloves
I bought these for walking my dog as she loves a ball thrown and in the winter I end up with wet frozen hands. They are a little bulky but my hands remain warm & dry so no complaints. I also used to work in the horse industry and imagine they would be good to ride in & because they have a cord to attach to your wrist should preclude difficulty of removing your gloves to take bridle and saddle off etc.

don't recommend. I ordered a size larger but these where ...
these gloves do not keep your hands warm as expected, after 3 minuets wearing them the finger ends where cold, if you put your hands in them cold they don't warm up for some considerable time later, don't recommend. I ordered a size larger but these where still too small.
