I mean deep, dark, chocolatey, "I have my life together" rich. First sip tastes like the coffee equivalent of a leather armchair in a library. There's smoke, there's cocoa, there's a nuttiness that makes you nod slowly like you understand wine now.Most dark roasts taste like someone set coffee on fire out of spite. This one tastes like the fire was intentional — controlled, deliberate, artisanal arson. Bold but smooth, strong but never bitter, like a bouncer who also does poetry.Downside: it has completely ruined diner coffee for me. I took a sip of the free stuff at a restaurant last week and my soul briefly left my body. Worth it.Peet's has been making this since 1969, which means they've had 57 years to perfect it and zero excuses if it were bad. It's not bad. It's the best thing in my kitchen and I will be taking no questions.Five stars. Would inhale the bag like a cartoon character floating toward a pie on a windowsill.

Very good dark roast coffee! One of my favorites! Great value for 18oz bag of whole beans! I like grinding for each brew as it keeps the coffee fresher longer! Good aroma, and very drinkable! Increased the quantity of my order to 2 bags … great price for over 2 lbs of coffee! Knocked off one star because you never can tell how old the coffee you are receiving is… but otherwise great deal

Love this coffee because it’s great whether you brew a pot or use it in an espresso machine. It’s also a great value compared to other brands, especially for the size of the bag.
