Only thing smaller are the NUCs, ASRock Visions, and Zotacs, and none of those are DIY builds, and your options are limited (CPU,GPU).This thing has plenty of room and power suppply for the nVidia 750ti (Maxwell) video card I put in it.

I was using a laptop with a dock but with the advent of tablets I almost never take my laptop anywhere, so when the powerboard on the laptop went out I decided to build a more powerful bookshelf system. This case has enough room to work inside of without too much of a hassle and enough power to run the 55w Ivy Bridge intel. I skipped the GPU since I'm not gaming on this and the CPU/MoBo has the latest Intel 4000 graphics.I only have two gripes:The case fan is a three wire howler that I replaced with the Noctua PWM and now it's very quiet.The power and HDD LEDs could double as taxi markers at SFO. Not sure it is worth $100 as it is just a couple piece of spray painted metal and some plastic but it's still a nice case. Small and compact but enough room to work with.

Definitely gives you your bang for the buck. I was afraid 'twas gonna be cheap and flimsy, but it feels sturdy and looks cool. I haven't tried stuffing it yet with external GPU to see how it pans out. But so far I really like it.
