I bought a set of knives and needed a knife block to hold them. My accents in my kitchen are all red, so this on was perfect. It is light and a good quality. Very easy to clean and a great value for the money. There are a lot of slots. You just drop your knives in. Easy as that. It holds my new set of knives and my old standbys too. There is room for many knives.

As others have noted, many of the slots into which the knives should fit are too wide to safely hold the knife. Oddly, the center slots are narrow and hold large knives well, but the slots toward both edges are wider. Should the knife block tip over, knives in those wider slots would go flying - dangerous! I have decided to store my knives in the narrow center slots, where they are snug and safe, and that is working well for me. The outer wider slots are left empty. Smaller paring knives are not safe in this knife block at all - they flip right out. It is a knife block for long knives only. But on the positive side: this knife block is inexpensive, attractive, requires little space on my kitchen counter, and many people who have seen it in my kitchen say they would like to buy one too.

I bought the stainless steel (grey) version to match the my GF kitchen and man does it look good. hold my biggest and smallest knives. She loves it. definitely recommend to add to your kitchen.

Bought it for my daughter’s school dorm for her to organize her knives, works well.

Initially, it gripped the knives with some friction material, Currently, the friction material has deteriorated and the knives just lay over. I will be looking for a replacement.

I love the appearance of this knife holder. I love the ability to store my frequently used knives in a container that I know is clean and washable. There is one shortcoming, though. The vertical position is not as ergonomically convenient as the one in my old wooden block. I use my knives daily and keep the holder where I can just reach for them easily. Due to the relatively tall box and the straight up position, the motion to pull them out of this container does not feel as natural and effortless.
