EDIT: Good not great
I'm a big Edifier fan -- my S360DBs are probably the best set of speakers I've ever owned. I decided to try out the 330s as computer speakers, needing something with RCA hookups to plug in my Douk Audio P1 preamp that I use for Bluetooth, USB with my computer, as well as with open back headphones. These are about half the price of the 360s, so I told myself I'd be happy if they were half as good and that's what they are, maybe. At low to mid volume, they sound pretty good. Nice and balanced with plenty of clarity and no distortion. I can't say the same at higher volume. Mids basically go out the window and the bass becomes pretty muddy. At any volume, the sub struggles with lower, sub-bass frequencies. No amount of EQ tweaking changes this. As such, they sound pretty good with rock (provided good mixing), but rap and electronic is hit or miss. Adjusting the bass also requires bending down and turning the knob on the back of the woofer. The system does look good and feels sturdy enough, and is relatively compact, all of which are plusses, but all things considered, I wouldn't say it justifies the $200 price tag, where $120 to $150 would be more appropriate IMHO. I considered returning them, but comparable speakers at this price point all either lack RCA, or, as my research suggests, they're subpar in mids as well (i.e. Logitech). If having RCA isn't important to you, I'd say go for some Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX or an older (thereby comparably priced) model of H/K SoundSticks. Overall, I guess I'm happy with the purchase, and maybe should have tempered my expectations more given the age of this system. Do your research and some prioritization of features before getting these yourself. If you can afford them and have the space, I recommend the S360DBs without hesitation which you can find outside of Amazon for just under $400.--------Edit: I added an SKW audiophile RCA cable and now these sound AMAZING! Bass is still a little lacking on some tracks, but it's no longer muddy at higher volume (pretty crisp actually) and the mids are back. I couldn't be happier with this system now. Pay the extra $30-$40 and you'll have a great system as well.

Amazing Product
Setting up these speakers is as simple as pie because the compact size of the subwoofer and the rectangular size of the speakers. But when I heard them for the first time, it was like making love all over again! These speakers are amazing! The design is elegant, yet sexy, and the sound is clear and loud. The bass is so crisp and clear, that it shames the Z-2300. I used to own the logitech Z-2300 (for games-blown), still own the Z-5500 (living room ) , and the Harman soundsticks (computer) for movies and music. So I can only compare the Edifier to those 3 setups. The power and quality of this system is like a mix between the soundsticks and the z2300. IT has clear sound and a good boom. Plus for the price, WOW! I wish I would have had these speakers 3 years ago when I bought the Z5500!They aren't as powerful as the z5500, but for the price, well worth every penny. And to say that these speakers sound good would be an understatement. They sound orgasmic! FYI, the speakers are connected through an optical connection to my PS3.Don't bother buying another optical cable because Edifier provides one for you. I made the mistake of buying one that did not fit, but returning it would have been a net lost so I just keep it as a spare. So... Buy these before Edifier realizes they can sell them for MUCH more!

A bit thin in the mid-range but perfect for my TV sound.
I wanted a 2.1 speaker system to improve the sound I was getting from my LG 50" plasma TV, specifically the bass, which was not good. I needed a digital optical connection as that is all that is available for external speakers on this TV and could not use and didn't want to pay for a good 5.1 or similar system. Optical 2.1 systems are not very common but this is a good one and now that I have heard it I'm glad I chose it.The richer bass output is exactly what I was looking for. I tried my Edifier system with the TV sound off as would generally be recommended but though I was pleased with the lower lows and crisper highs, I noticed the mid-range wasn't as as full so I tried turning the TV speakers back on adjusted just a little below the volume of the Edifier L and R units. Wonderful! The Edifier stereo speakers are about 7' apart for the excellent stereo separation I want for movies and the TV speakers, at about 3.5' apart, eliminate that 'hole' you can get at the center. An ideal solution for me aside from the minor inconvenience of needing to balance two overall volume controls. I also have the ability to raise and lower the amount of bass using the control at the back of the sub-woofer. The Edifier volume control cable is only about 6 ft. It uses a DB9-pin serial connector so you may want to use a DB9 extension cable like this 6-ft. one I ordered (or longer): SF Cable, 6 ft DB9 M/F Serial Extension Cable RS232 Black Color. The reviewers who mentioned that you get an optical digital cable in the package are right, so don't buy another one unless you need more than the 4' or so length provided to reach from your digital optical output to the sub-woofer unit from which you will have ample wire to reach the L and R stereo speakers.I often watch/listen to music programs, CDs and DVDs at my TV setup and it is satisfying to be able to hear those bass instruments again as they were meant to be heard.
