Great Keyboard with some drawbacks
Update: 7 months later…I still think this is a great option, but the west and tear does show. The clips holding the iPad in don’t hold up over time. One has broken 6 months use. Also, the space bar is not as responsive as it was when it was first purchased. I wonder if it’ll still be useful after a year. Therefore dropping from 4 stars to 3.So, let’s get right into it. I really like this keyboard. There is one thing that I don’t like about it, but we’ll get to that in a little bit. I do like the protection that this keyboard brings. I feel like it’s much safer, providing more protection, than the Apple Magic Keyboard and the Logitech keyboards (both Logitech keyboards). You can use shortcuts, like on both the Apple and Logitech keyboards. The buttons click and are smooth like a real keyboard, but that’s just my preference. It has a sleek design with an open hole on the back of the case to show the Apple logo, if you like that sort of thing (some people like to show the Apple logo as a sign of status, I guess). I do like the black color and feel like it goes better with the bezel of the iPad. There is a label near the trackpad that shows shortcuts to assist. This can be beneficial if you don’t know the shortcuts; simple, but beneficial. It has an apple pen’s placement right above your iPad (typing position). It would be great if the Apple pen was black. Also, you can shift the screen in almost every position imaginable. If you would like to just use view mode for just watching a movie, you can spin the top around, or spin the iPad and flatten the top, with the keyboard facing the back of the iPad. This is the best feature and neither Apple or Logitech has this feature. I just wonder how long the back will hold up over time. In comparison, Apple and Logitech will cost you $200-$350 respectively, depending on your iPad size. You can pick this up for less than $100.I am currently using this one with the 12.9” pro, 2021 (5th edition) and it makes the top much heavier. Even though the back can be positioned 180 degrees, the iPad will fall backwards because of the weight. If it was stronger, it would be a 5-star product. It causes the keyboard to lift up. If you stand while typing, it can limit the view and you won’t be as relaxed when typing. Also, if you're looking for something lightweight, this isn't it. It's heavier than a MacBook pro when the iPad is installed. If you are looking for a great keyboard case with many features at a valued price, this is the keyboard for you. I have been really impressed so far. I’ve had it about a week and have used it daily.

Deciding on the Magic Keyboard or This Item?
Standing at Best Buy wondering if you should just buy the Magic Keyboard without any regrets for your highly invested IPad Pro? That was literally me when I bought my iPad in November. I wanted to just go for it and buy all the accessories at once but of course I paused my compulsive urge to spend and searched for alternatives in amazon. Found this item and thought. What the heck. Let me test it out since it’s half the price. Wouldn’t hurt. And if it doesn’t work, I just return and spend stupidly on a keyboard. So down to the points:1: It is sturdy and has some weight to it. I mean granted if you’re buying a keyboard. You’re aware it’s not gonna be air light compared to a regular case for it. So yes. It’s got some weight but not like a laptop weight.2: It is of course a keyboard first but I like that it is also essentially a case. I have yet to drop it as I’m super careful with this Dang iPad. But I’m thinking with a heavy bottom, the keyboard part would brace for impact more than the actual screen.2: There’s hot keyed buttons on the keyboard for easy access to the home screen, brightness adjustment, volume adjustment, and play/pause to music. There’s more but these are my top used and I can’t tell you how convenient it feels despite the other quick access functions the iPad has. It’s just a click of the button and brightness is up and volume is up. Play pause without touching the screen. Love it.3: Holds the iPad perfectly! And even has a small spot above for your apple pen.4: the swivel was definitely the seller for me.this store has an item that only does a simple twist of the screen and then there’s the 360 swivel. I chose the 360 and I am sooo happy. I can twist the screen to cover the keyboard and use it for note taking or drawing without any hassle.5: I was also blown away by the touch pad! Works naturally like a regular laptop. Connectivity was quick too.6: Keyboard light up options and color changes as you’d like as well. Now Battery life seems average. I haven’t timed it yet. I’ll update if that’s an issue but so far so good. Definitely better than spending double the amount. Save yourself some $$ for your apple pen or even for buying another one of these for your moms iPad Pro. Cos definitely convenient and nice to have.
