Sony SRS-XB23 - Super-Portable, Powerful and Durable, Waterproof, Wireless Bluetooth Speaker with EXTRA BASS – Black

I bit the bullet for this speaker as a result of looking for something we could link up phones and DAPs to while enjoying the weather sitting in our garden with friends and family for BBQ's etc, and for linking up a bluetooth turn table to for playing some old vinyl records as opposed to running cables around our room to hook up hard wired speakers, and I have to say it performs better than its price would suggest. The build quality goes without saying from a Sony product, but the performance quality is surprisingly good for the price. We've had to turn it down on a few occasions as its loud if you want it to be. Now, for any audio nerds out there, there will be the critic's mentions of highs, lows, mids etc, but lets be realistic here, its a portable bluetooth speaker, if you want HiFi quality, why on earth are you looking at portable speakers(?). From my hands on experience with this speaker, it does not produce a cheap and tinny sound, good bass, good clarity and nothing short of doing exactly what I want it to do, in fact, it goes beyond what my expectations were for it.Very happy with this purchase.

The sound quality of this speaker is very good for its size. It can be enhanced further by simply downloading the Sony media centre app and switching to stereo mode.It will need to be placed on a solid piece of furniture or worktop (something well connected to the floor) for best the best bass response.There is definitely enough bass on this speaker as it comes. Using the equaliser in the app you can push it up further, but I don't think it's necessary. Volume is plenty unless you are in a large room.I have had a few Sony products over the years and they never let me down. At this price point there is nothing flashy about the speaker. It's dead simple but still sounds excellent.If you want a great sounding speaker and don't want lots of extra features, this is the one for you.I looked long and hard at reviews on speakers and I'm glad I chose this one. I love it and hope this helps you to decide if it's what you want.

Love this little speaker. Teams instantly with my iPad. Plenty of Bass and volume. It’s attractive and a good weight. The battery life seems good and it’s so portable too (obvious, but when you’re used to wired speakers it’s a revelation!)It’s also useful having the Sony Speaker App which allows you to adjust bass, middle and treble.So far I only have one, but will probably get another and pair them as stereo speakers. I’d recommend.

The media could not be loaded. I like the fact that it is compact and very well made. I did buy one before from Sony but looking on their website I couldn't find it. I wanted to get another one for performance and found this one on Amazon. The two of them really fill up the room with sound. For their size they sound incredible.
