Dual Ceramic Burners, Cook Multiple Steaks at Same Time
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Came with instructions on how to assemble and operate the broiler. No cook book, basic trial and error. It cooked four burgers at once and came out perfect 2 minutes time on each side. No missing or loose screws like other brands. I'm happy with this purchase and have recommended it to my friends. Sent them this video they were impressed. The unit can easily be clean/washed. The side rails lift off without any need of tools.

Great grill for the money - but...
You most likely found this grill because you are unwilling to spend what Otto Wilde is charging. After all, heat is heat, no matter who made your grill. When I got the grill, I quickly put it to the test. The result was everything I could hope for. I normally grill 2-3 per week, and for about a month a half everything was great. Then I noticed one time that it was taking a long time to get the grill to light. I had to keep the knob down for a long time before the flame would stay on after I release the knob. Then I couldn't get the flame to stay on, no matter what I tried. I went back to read the reviews, and it turns out a lot of people were having this problem.I reached out to the seller explaining the problem. Their English wasn't the greatest, but they said something about the thermocouple being the issue. I did some more research online, and found that the solenoid is the culprit. The way it works is that as the thermocouple probe heats up, it opens up the solenoid, whose job it is to cut off the flow of gas in case the flame goes out. For whatever reason, the solenoid sometimes stops working, and always cuts off the flow of gas, no matter how hot the probe gets.On this grill, the solenoid can be found by unscrewing the hex nut that holds in place the piece that is connected to the thermocouple probe by a white wire. It's in the back of the grill, right in the middle. You will have to remove the metal cover on the back of the grill to access it. You can try replacing the solenoid, though it might not be the issue. What you definitely SHOULD NOT DO, is to cut the spring on the solenoid so it is always in open position. In case you forget to turn off the gas, or the flame goes out will unattended, that can cause a serious issue. From what I can tell the solenoids are pretty standard pieces, so replacing it might be pretty straightforward. So if you can get your hands on this grill, and you are comfortable fiddling with it in case it stops working, I highly recommend it. Otherwise, you should probably get something a little more expensive and reliable.

You will never order a restaurant steak again after you use this broiler
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I am 71 years old. When I was about 10 years old my mother had an electric broiler in the kitchen and if I was hungry I would take a frozen steak out of the freezer and put it directly in the broiler and it cooked well even though it was frozen. For some reason cooking a frozen steak tastes way better than a steak that sits out defrosting. With this machine I can cook frozen steaks again that literally taste 2X’s better than defrosted steaks! All I had to do was cook it on the lowest level and the lowest temperature and it comes out perfect with the top and bottom cooked well and with the center still pink. I will never order a steak in a restaurant again because my own steaks are the best in the world thanks to the Big Horn machine. And best of all is the machine hardly uses any gas to do this!!!!!Additionally the customer service has been supremely fast and receptive via email. All the parts fit in the dishwasher. Cleaning the inside after every use requires only 1 shpritz and a wipe. I bought a stainless steel wire cart from Amazon with lips on the top shelf and wheels to move the unit out from under the overhang then back in after each cook. The lips are to keep the unit from sliding off the cart. I cooked 4 boneless .75lb rib steaks at once but I normally cook two 1.3-1.5lb with bone rib steaks at 1 time. These are wide so I put them on the lowest slot and cook them at the low setting. Side 1 takes 12 minutes and side 2 takes 8 minutes. Well done outside with some pink inside and juicy as heck. Just put coarse kosher salt and garlic powder and onion powder on both sides and it is orgasmic. When you cook on the lowest level you can also see your meat cooking. If you eat the bone last you’ll be like a dog trying to find any semblance of meat left on it because that’s how great your steaks will be and that final bone is the greatest meat on earth!!!!

Great version of a steak broiler, excellent price!
I’ve been coveting a Beefer for a while now, but can not justify $2,000+ just to broil meat. So, I started looking at the alternatives and came across this unit from Big Horn.It has the same features as most of the other but at about 50% less cost (typically this size is over $300).The unit is well made with good setup instructions. Yes, it is straight out of China like the rest, but the quality is certainly worth the price so far.At this point I have cooked chicken breast, pork chops, and steak on it. All came out pretty good - especially if you consider I just got it. Yesterday, I browned a brisket before putting in the Sous Vide and it worked AWESOMELY for that. All in all, I’d you are looking for a fair priced steak broiler, this is a very good buy.
