Camellia brand of red kidney beans are the best in my opinion. The quality of the beans compared to other brands don’t even come close. And I had tried other brands. The beans are so flavorful and the texture is the right consistency. In 1 1/2 to hours 2 hours you talk about some good eating. I usually soak mine , rinse, add the trinity ( bell pepper, onion, celery ) bay leaf, smoked turkey meat and sausage and seasoning and chicken broth. Cook some rice and cornbread and you have a meal.

Trying my hand at southern style red beans and rice, and the brand name Camillia kept coming up for choice of beans, so I bought theirs, happily so. Did the rinse and sort, and there was no debris, and no bad beans. Cooked well, tasted just as they should. Happy with seller and product.

My uncle makes a wicked "red beans and rice" dish and he gave us the recipe. He did comment, "You can ONLY use Camellia beans and Louisiana Hot Sauce." We followed his suggestion and it came out incredibly well. These beans are large, have great texture when cooked, and are a good value for the money. We live in Hawaii and tried to find them locally, with no success. Fortunately we can order them Don't make red beans and rice with any other brand.
