Good Buy!
I like this ride on! It is roomy in the cab and very reliable. Runs great! The assembly is not too complicated and the instructions a fairly straightforward. I would suggest buying a lithium 12v 20ahms battery so it runs longer and charges faster.

There are Pros & Cons
UPDATE: We’ve officially been using this for 5 months and the steering wheel lever BROKE!! The jeep is on 3+ years and nothing has broken on it. So disappointed. At this point, we’re experts in the child ride-on automobile game.Back story- We bought a 1 seater jeep for our 2 year old a few years ago. It has lasted forever! It has off-roading wheels, a radio/Bluetooth, and is so easy to hook up for charging, that she could do it. If they sold that jeep in a 2 seater, that’s also as wide as this John Deere, we would’ve bought that.Fast forward… we now have a 5 year old and 2 year old who want to ride together. For reference, they are both very tall and weigh a combined 85 lbs.We did a lot of research on 2 seater ride on toys for them. And by “we,” I mean my husband did a lot of research. Our #1 concern was the width of the seats since the girls are sick of being crammed in like the jeep. Surprisingly, the ride-on cars/trucks/atvs that have 2 seats, really aren’t much wider than the 1 seaters! It’s crazy. Most are only 1/2” - 1 1/2” wider. We even took into account the body & tire size of each one we looked at.This brings me to PRO #1- This John Deere is the widest 2 seater ride on car/truck that we could find. And it truly is comfortable in that aspect. Great for our 2 kids! Wish it had more leg room because I’m not sure how much longer my 5 year old will be able to fit in it, but we have tall kidsPRO #2 - They love the bed in the back bc they like hauling stuff around. It’s pretty cool. Wish it had a better lock on the tailgate and an automatic dump button but I digress.PRO #3 - So far the battery life is pretty great. In my opinion, the cons are issues that 2 big companies should’ve caught when they were designing and testing.CON #1 - Charging the battery is inconvenient. Our 2/3 year old could charge the jeep on her own. Now she’s 5 and definitely can not charge this John Deere by herself. I have to get a screwdriver, remove the screw in the front grill, open up the front grill, disconnect the battery then hook it up to the charger. Then do all that over again once the battery is charged. Every time. Annoying flaw when designing a KIDS ride on.CON #2 - It’s front heavy so it definitely needs to be 4x4 and have off-roading wheels on it… but it doesn’t. We live in a neighborhood with normal grass and the girls have gotten stuck from time to time. They never get stuck in their jeep bc it’s 4x4 and has better wheels. Maybe if it wasn’t so front heavy, the wheels wouldn’t be a problem. If they would’ve put off-reading wheels on this thing then the front heavy aspect might not be a problem. Another flaw I feel should’ve at least been caught in the testing phaseCON #3 - It’s 2022/2023… it should have a radio on it like all the others. Simple addition. Especially for $500!!Would I buy it again? Yes, it’s still the widest and most comfortable for 2 kids, it has a bed in the back and its pretty quick. Wish they’d fix the flaws though.Fyi - shipping took a lot longer than expected and It took my very handy husband 2 1/2 hours to put together. So funHope this review helps!

Driven to the brink of insanity building/operating this thing.
I’ll start by saying that this became a Christmas gift for my son this year. He loved seeing me drive my JD mower around and wanted something with the yellow deer icon. I figured - why not this mini gator? Boy, I had no idea of what I was getting myself into.First, the instructions booklet was outrageously complicated for something so simple. I mean sure, once you figured out where everything went - it got put together - but it is a literal puzzle trying to figure out how the diagrams are designed. Whoever put the instructions together obviously didn’t have any consideration for the average consumer.Second - SAFETY, SAFETY, SAFETY - this thing NEEDS a belt to keep your little ones from falling off of it. At speed 1 - they’re probably okay, but at speed 2 - they’re going to fall off, guaranteed. I couldn’t find the belt on Amazon so I had to go to Peg Perego directly for their $20 + $10 S&H safety belt add-on which should’ve already been included with this thing. A severe safety oversight.Third - Those wheels have ZERO grip and friction. The rear wheels will slip on different gradients and textures. I got around this by putting extra sticky anti-slip tape right where the wheel contacts the ground and it’s a night and day difference - only time will tell how often I have to replace the tape. Short term solution for a long term problem. Other electric riders I got for my kids had actual gripping on the wheels - whoever designed these wheels had not a single clue what the concept of traction is.Seriously, for the price of this contraption, I expected significantly better. You’re going to drive yourself nuts putting it together, it has a severe safety issue not including a belt (I had riders who were much slower than this thing that came with built-in belt straps), and those wheels need a redesign for traction.Much like the actual problems plaguing JD, the quality is NOT there for this item.

Fun ride
Such a great item. Grandson and his mom did all assembly and had fun working together.I wish there was the next size up because his legs would not fit in car anymore. He was sad to see it given to a shorter child. Battery life very good. Two speeds helped him learn safely as he was 3 when he started drivingGood directions
