Great Phone - Great Price - Great Spec
I have used loads of different handsets over the last few years, but my more recent handset just didn’t have enough storage ands there’s was always one issue or another. So I decided it was time to put my hand in my pocket and upgrade so after some research I chose the 9x Pro. I have had the phone for over a week now and feel I should share my thoughts on it so far. Firstly, the main reason I went for the 9x Pro over some mid-lower range competitors was down to the 256gb storage. I take a lot of pictures and videos, and I mean A LOT. 256gb should stand me in good stead for some years to come. Yes, I know I could offload my stuff onto separate storage or upload online but I do like having a complete collection of my memories ready to access. There is a good weight to the device in the hand, feeling like a premium product - not cheap. I am not one normally who was fussed about a flashy back but the two-tone effect is truly remarkable. It makes the phone look more expensive than it actually is! Due to the large size of the screen (6.59"!) and the pop-up camera it means I have something that plays games really well and almost feels like a small games console. Transferring over from my existing phone was a breeze by following the setup instructions. I had to download 'Phone Clone' onto my old device (easy enough) but after a quick process of scanning a barcode via the new phone it set itself up without hassle and pulled over all my existing pictures, video and contacts. Inside the box was a very helpful leaflet explaining the process of how to setup the phone, including the transfer method above. It also explained how to go about searching for apps on the Huawei App Gallery (first time using this) I knew when buying the phone was it was not going to support Google apps. You would have to have lived in a cave for the last year to not have heard or followed the ongoing issues with Huawei and the impact it has had on their new phones. As such, Honor being part of Huawei is also affected. I knew that going into this I may find it tough to adapt but the other benefits at the price made me want to at least give it a go. The leaflet was easy to follow and pretty quickly I had understood how to follow a slightly different process to download apps. Instead of the Play store there is the Huawei App Gallery which in principle does the same thing. There were some apps missing when I was looking but at the same time one of the presented options in the leaflet was to look at 'Petal Search' as another option. You get this by downloading it from the App Gallery and you can set it up as a widget on the main screen. This allowed me to find lots of apps that I couldn't get from Huawei App Gallery. I wanted to download Spotify to use on my new phone and found it easily enough this way. Sure, I can't use dedicated Google Apps such as YouTube but there are ways to continue using them in a slightly different form. You can use the browser version and save the link to the main screen easily enough. In fact, Petal Search suggested it and set it up for me without hassle. It doesn't look or act any different than having the app. The end result is an experience that whilst took a bit of getting used to, hasn't really changed what I use my phone for. Again, the benefits of the device itself outweighed a few initial concerns and now I am not bothered by it. I have not even begun to mention the other great parts of the phone...the triple camera on the back has a 48mp lens! The pictures I have taken so far look fantastic and having a wide-angle lens gives me some good options to explore when I feel like it. That previously mentioned 16mp pop-up camera is a real attention grabber though - people are surprised that it comes out of the phone itself really quickly. I have heard people get worried about these breaking off but it feels sturdy to me and retracts quickly. Finally it comes with a 4000 mAh battery. This is much bigger than I was previously used to and gets me well into the second day without a need to charge. With that big screen this is a particularly good bonus. The charger is USB-C, another bonus as so much these days already use that connection. Overall I am impressed by the spec and build quality of the phone and more than happy with the product itself.

Nice phone, no Google support....avoid
I'm sure the phone would have been really great however, because of the american ban there is no Google support, so no apps, no software updates and no sense of security. There is away to download Google app store however that means doing some back way of doing and it and after trying many times it didn't work. I also found out that the newer apps won't work on the older version of firmware so really what's the point? They say download apps from the Chinese ap store however one I don't feel that's a great idea(security, then again I own a Chinese phone so they could already be listening to me..... Not very exciting), two I'm sure it won't be as good as the original apps.Returned the phone for this reason.

Can you live without Google
No Google on this one, it cannot be side louded either... The loop hole has been closed. I know, I have spent many a hour trying.Good point, if you use phone clone all of your apps transfer to this phone, some may work some not.If the camera is your thing, then I can't fault it

Great value for money
Superb phone. No Google services on this one but you can still install APK apps like Facebook, messenger, amazon etc. Well worth the money

Pity about no Google app store
Nice phone for the money but the no google app store is a real pain. You can download most apps from other sites but you just don't quite know if they're secure.

Great product! Great Price! Very pleased
I purchased the 9x pro after reading various reviews and I must say Im very pleased with it.The set up of the device was really easy using the Phone Clone app.I did notice a few apps I wanted were not on the Huawei app store yet, however I used the recommended Petal search and found everything I wanted.I love the design of the phone with a 2 tone colour on the back and an X design as the light catches it. (I tried to show this on the pictures but I don't think its clear on the photos I took). There's a free case in the box but I don't think I will use it.Im loving the notch free screen and pop up camera.Plenty of storage (128GB) and great battery life.I would recommend this product.

Fantastic specs, fatally flawed
Great specs and nice and snappy. But everything else , just no.No Google apps, and workarounds are horrid. Huawei app store is stuffed with ads. Any workaround apps still needs Google accounts and play services. It asks you to download a secondary search called petals, to get apks.I have yet to find even a custom ROM as you might get with a Xiaomi phone.Because of the essential flaws, it's essentially an electronic brick.

Bit of a disappointment
I'm disappointed with the missing Playstore services. I would not have bought it had I known about that.
