Project Mc2 Circuit Beats

Our church actually did a science VBS theme. This was a huge hit with all the kids. It prompted me to purchase this for my 5 year olds birthday.We have 5 children from 5 to 10. Yes this is a simple concept however it allows my 5 children to engage & work together. My ten year old boys may think its cooler than they will admit. One of my boys would normally not interact with the girls so much without being annoyed with them. He will play with them for a decent amount of time. He is very into STEM. This is a cool gadget for a good price. It may require adult interaction if you dont have a bunch of kids. You need to think to keep it fresh. Come up with a list with your child & allow them to "experiment" its a great tool to teach them to write a hypothesis. You can have them write what they think will happen with a given object then the actual outcome. Have them compare items or analyze what works best. (Yes mom likes Science) yes I like to play with it too & I appreciate a learning toy that can not only make our children think but also work together by choice. Give this thing a chance & its very rewarding.

I bought this for my 5 year old daughter for her birthday because she saw it on a commercial and decided she really "needed" it. I had a little trouble getting it to work at first. I turned the on switch and hooked everything up but got nothing. Checked the batteries and wires, still nothing. My daughter then pushed the button on the front for recording your own voice, it beeped and started working. I saw nothing in the instructions about pushing that button, but it seems to make it work. After the initial user error problem it worked great. We have had a lot of fun with it. I think I enjoy it as much as she does. We stared making human chains to make it play music, we hooked it to the dog and patted him to make music, we used fruit, a glass of water, you name it and we made music. It is pretty compact so it travels well. She also loved that it had stickers so she could decorate it herself.

My daughter LOVES this item. As far as the toy itself, she loves playing with it, and even includes younger siblings, who get a kick out of learning about the different circuits and ways to manipulate them. In my mind, you can't go wrong with that! She received one at her fathers house for Christmas, and hinted that this once, she would love to have one at mine as well. I caved and ordered one that should have arrived in time for Santa to leave under the tree, however when I opened the box, there was an electric shaver instead =( along with NO packing slip.Now granted after I filled out the replacement request, packed up the shaver, made it to UPS with my kids, and received the replacement after Christmas, I was more than a bit upset.

I bought this for my 8 year old Daughter. We watched MC2 on Netflix and thought this would be a fun toy to try while teaching about circuits. We got as a warehouse deal. Out of the box the stickers were already placed on product but everything else seemed to be in order. We spent a few minutes figuring out setup but the rest of time was spent exploring items we could use to make music with. We tried all kinds of items from beverages to fruit to fingers and toes. We found cutie orange slices to be a great fit.The circuit beats toy has several sound settings and overall was a super fun toy that has an educational background. I would definitely recommend this toy.

I hate to give a low review to something that's so fun when it works. like other reviewers, this worked great for two uses and then just stopped. I'm an electronics technician and so I really looked into troubleshooting the problem but I think it's just poorly made.The headphones can be plugged into other audio devices and that's fun for my daughter.I ended up having to return the first one. I can't find these anymore so I hope the second one doesn't break. I think that they stopped making them probably because of all the returns. Usually the project mc squared kits and toys are better made.

Daughter saw this on a commercial and was begging for it. It was a decent price and I always want to encourage my daughter to do things that are STEM related, so I was a sucker and I bought it. Overall it's a cool concept and the line as a whole is a great idea. However, this is a one-trick pony. You connect the current through whatever and it makes noise. Neat, but not for long. So as long as you have properly set expectations, it's fun for a bit. And if you can get it for a good deal, go for it, but I don't recommend spending too much or expecting too much. It's a good distraction for a couple of days.

This is a VERY cool product.However, I wish they would have specified in the commercials and on the packaging that items used to make the connections must be conductive - moist inside (like bananas, flowers in water).It may seem like common sense except some of us aren't science savvy or are half awake, zombie-brained, single moms.Overall, though, was worth the buy. Even I had fun trying to make it work and playing with it.

This is a Christmas gift so I am not sure how it works just yet, but I will say my daughter LOVES science and the Mc2 projects and this is on her top 3 list for Christmas. She is really excited about getting this set so hopefully it will work out like her other sets. She has several Mc2 sets and they have all been wonderful. Everything always works just like it says and it's fun for her make the things and experiment. We have not had one bad experience with Mc2 toys.
