Accutire MS-4445B Programmable Talking Tire Gauge with Lighted Tip and Storage Case

I have always been wary of these new digital gauges for accuracy. I'm old school, oil-filled dial gauges. I work in our transportation shop and that old gauge is very accurate. That being said, I bought this for the mostly 5 star reviews and reasonable price just to see for myself. I'm pleased to say that it works very well and concurs with the tire psi computer in my wife's brand new car! It's very comfortable and easy to use. I also have a motor scooter and needed to position the gauge with the readout away from me - the voice feature said the tire pressure clearly and it was still displayed when I turned it over.I will withhold a durability comment when I've had it a few months or a year, but it appears to be a long-lasting gauge given the thick rubber handle and I keep it in it's included steel case.The only possible complaint I had was that it is 2015 and the one I got was 2011, meaning the batteries were mostly spent. However, I looked up the website, made a call to customer tech support, spoke to a very nice gal, and she's sending me two replacement batteries free of charge. Can't beat that!

Did not work! All functions were operational EXCEPT measuring tire pressure. So, basically, it is a funny shaped mini flashlight. Also, "spare" batteries were shipped with gauge. They weren't spare! The included batteries were defective and apparently the manufacturer was aware of the issue. The package was slit and a set of "spare" batteries were inserted and labeled as spare like they were giving you something for free. A little honesty would have been okay. They could have just said the batteries received from their vendor were defective and they were including replacement batteries. Everybody knows that is what is going on so why lie. It is understandable that they did not want to go to the expense of opening the package, replacing the batteries, and then repackaging the guage. That would have killed their profit margin. Also, when the packaging was cut to insert the "spare" batteries, the knife went too deep and the covering on the hard carrying case was also cut. The concept on this product is really very good. I would still like to have this or a similar product if it actually worked as advertised. Product was returned and refund issued.

I bought the earlier version of this product back around 2004 and it had the same problem of not making the perfect seal. It finally broke while taking readings out in the rain. I ordered the MS-4445B along with the MS-4751WC to do a product comparison. The MS-4445B has improved in quality over the years and it now comes with a great hard cover case. It is sleek and slim as before. The pistol grip seems to feel better. The older version had a dim backlight and thus at night the LCD screen was harder to see. This one has a bright backlight so the talking feature is more of a novelty to impress your children, but still kind of cool. The case is a hard cover so it is great, but way too big. It doesn't fit in the center console of a G35 Coupe nor the glove compartment if you have the manual in there so I had to put it in my side door compartment where it rattles after every bump. They should have made the case a lot smaller. The case that came with the MS-4751WC fits like a glove, which is pretty nice, although not a hard case. The MS-4751WC is for my wife's Denali which fits the "bulky" profile. Both gauges did well as far as the readings were concerned, but I prefer this one because it is less bulky and the shape fits comfortably in my hand. I've heard that using tape solves the perfect seal issue for both gauges. I have not resorted to that method, luckily. Maybe it is because I was use to the less forgiving older model that I can take a perfect reading most of the time. If you press the gauge down perpendicular to the pin, you should not have a problem taking a reading. Any slight degree off 90 may bring on some frustration.

Didn't work at all at first. Contacted company who quickly sent us a reacement battery. Works fine on our bike tires just fine. Great customer service

Extremely well-made product. My son gave me an older model Accutire gauge some 25 years ago and it is still working fine! This one is much more refined, not only talks it can be set to measure the correct pressure for front and rear tires. The limits are user-programmable. And comes with a nice storage case!

The gauge did not work. I could not replace the battery without damaging the plastic case so I decided to return it.

Purchased this for my husband as a Christmas gift in 2010. Battery's for this unit are $5 per package. To use this item the first two times required new battery's EACH time. Battery installation requires the handle to be taken apart with a TINY screw - like on a pair of small CHEAP $1.00 reading glasses. Then, after you put in the two small batteries' you must fiddle with the units' contact receptors to get them to touch and stay on top of the battery-caps, which give the unit power. This is because it is made CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP! Then it required much coaxing, the instruction sheet, turning it off and on, and much patience to get it to work properly. My husband could never use it because his fingers were too big to properly manipulate any of the fore mentioned procedures. He tired with the opened end of a paper-clip, but became frustrated and gave it to me. Now, I ask you, is this a good gift for the Woman in your life? Probably better to stick to perfume and gift-cards if you want kisses after she opens the gift. Would a teenager or young driver put this much time into getting something to work? Not my teenage boys! Today - about one year later and the third time since purchase, and it is TOTALLY broken. This time it seems to be the computer chip that controls the digital display has gone haywire and just blinks. If I could give it a lower rating than a one star I would. You're a fool if you buy this item - unless of course you're mad at your husband and need a good gag-gift. A gag-gift would be the best use for this item.

What I like most is that the gauge is easy to engage on the stem and make a seal without air leakage.I've used too many pressure gauges where its hard not to bleed a bunch of air trying to make a seal, and this one is one of the better ones I've used. Ergonomics are good, the speech-provided pressure is clear, and the gauge is easy to read and well lit.

As expected the batteries installed were unusable which is why spares are included.These failed to work also.After fitting my own new batteries the gauge still did not function.i was on the point of returning it when it suddenly started to work for no obvious reason.Now it is finally working I am pleased with the product

My father is blind and these are very hard to come by.Glad I found it!He loves it as he is a car guy it made this simple for him to use alone.
