Fantastic product for making adult ice pops (alcopops/poptails
Fantastic product for making adult ice pops (alcopops/poptails!) I made these for alcoholic ice pops a party this summer and they were the absolute hit of the party. By themselves, they're really too large for a single adult pop, but we used an expensive impulse sealer we purchased here to seal the bags with great success (only a few bags out of over a hundred we sealed had a leak and I believe that's because the heat sealer element needed to be replaced or we didn't leave them on long enough.) This is the sealer we purchased but a 4" sealer would have been even more perfect as the 8" sealer was just a touch too large to comfortably store away 8" Impulse Sealer - Cellophane Bag sealerWe were able to make 2 pops per bag (about the right size for an alcoholic treat) by filling the bag with 1/3 cup liquid, sealing the bag just over that amount twice (once for the top, once about 1/4 inch above it to create a cutting area for the next pop, and then filling the bag again with 1/3 cup of liquid and sealing the top. Sounds weird, but it looked something like this: |====|-|=====| where the dash is space between the two heat seals in the middle where you would cut the pop to make 2. My husband and I set up an assembly line and we were able to complete about 3 - 5 bags a minute, so it went really fast.I ended up going back and purchasing another set of these 1.5" bags to keep on hand. Just a note, I also purchased these wider, 2" bags 100 Pcs High Quality Ice Candy bags, ice candy wrapper, poly bags, Popsicle Bags, 2x10 Poly Bags and decided that, while the quality was similar, they were just too large for this particular use. If you're making Ice Candy, the 2" bags are probably perfect, but these are more the size (in width) of the icee pops that you purchase in the grocery store and I found they work better for this particular application. Finally, we made a LOT of different pops, but the four biggest hits were the Peach Old Fashioned, Maple Brown Derby, Greyhound and Mojito (just don't be tempted to leave the mint pieces in, though, let it sit for a few hours to infuse, then strain it out as it creates an unpleasant texture most people didn't like.) Also, to modify a drink recipe, use about 25% more sweetener than you normally would, as the sweetness doesn't translate very well due to them being cold. I believe We spent between $10-15 for approx. 40-50 pops, so it was a pretty sound investment.

Sturdy, well-priced, enormous.
We purchased this to make juice pops to take to a party, and it was definitely the right call. The ice pops were a hit, and the bags were priced well and shipped quickly. The only "downside" is that they're shaped like Otter Pops and other similar products, but they're larger than standard ice pops (maybe twice the volume or a bit more?). If you've seen the jumbo ice pops that some corner stores and gas stations sell, they're about that size. We ended up using a Seal-A-Meal to heat seal the open end and then cut the bags in half. That size was just about perfect, and it wasn't too much added work. And yes, they're pretty sturdy. We had four of the half-size bags full of juice fall out of the freezer, and only one of them burst. Yipee!

Average
I like the product having to be able to make some frozen ice candies in my freezer ... however have several small issues that I personally found out, like it appears too long for the measurement I need, it's a little pricey for the functionality and since it is very long, makes it more difficult to put the contents inside the bag.

Great for making healthier pops
I loved being able to fill these with smoothies and juices vs. the junky ones from the grocery store. Two reasons I marked it down a little: the size is quite large so filling all the way makes it too much of a portion, also they are bit difficult to seal without the buying the extra heat sealer. The upside though, since they are quite large (longer and a bit thicker than regular freeze pops) there is enough room to fill them and then fold and twist tie the tops. I laid mine on a tray in the freezer first to freeze so they would stay flat and straight.Denise P

Too many leaks!
At first, I thought these bags were going to be great. But too many of them leaked. They were usually slow leaks, so they were hard to detect until the bags had been sitting for a while. Of course, if they were sitting in the freezer, by the time the leak was noticeable, it was too late and there was a huge mess to clean up. If you buy these, make sure you put the pops in a solid plastic bin to catch the liquid from the one or more than will inevitably leak.

Thin Plastic, not worth it
These were incredibly disappointing. These say they're for ice candy bags for making yourself, like make your own otterpops, and I was intending on using these for that same purpose. They seal well, but the plastic is incredibly thin, thinner then 2mil for sure, and if you let it freeze all the way like it should, when you open it or try to force the ice out the way you would with an otter pop the plastic breaks. Plastic is to thin, incredibly disappointing because this product is now a complete waste. Id recommend getting from a more reputable source or just vac-sealing vacuum bags into sleeves like this, you need thicker plastic. I would not recommend this product or seller.

Awesome
My family and I love these bags. I've been making popsicles all summer. Any fruit I've purchased too much of at the farmer's market gets blended up and frozen in these bags. I simply blend the fruit. I don't add sugar, juice, syrup, etc. A blend of fresh, ripe fruits and sometimes some spice (like cinnamon), or some balsamic vinegar, or really whatever, becomes a healthy and delicious treat for everybody. You really can't go wrong....just experiment and add stuff to your liking...so far it has been easy and fun....you really can't fail.

These are long but very easy to tie
I made homemade applesauce and froze them in pops. These are long but very easy to tie. I was afraid of the tying part but easier than tying a balloon. I also used them to juice apple and make apple cider pops. We did not have any issues with leaking and I did buy bread ties but never needed them. These are a great but for the price! You could even cut them and make them shorter if youd like. I just tied and cut off the rest.If you like making your own pops these are a steal. Oh yes, leave a little space at the top for air and expansion.
