READ THE INSTRUCTIONS PEOPLE!!!
First off, let me just say that before buying these, I've tried several similar products from Walmart (the fabric with yellow tape) & Lowes (rubberized cloth) - they were completely worthless. So after reading the negative reviews here, I was dubious. One review however, got my attention which said they work great if you follow the instructions. So let me just spell it out for those that have a tendency not to do so - Ruggies work great if you READ AND APPLY BASED ON THE INSTRUCTIONS! Here is what I did. 1. Place your rug where you want it to be. 2. Flip up one corner. 3. Peel the paper off the supplied tape and stick the tape to the corner of the rug (sticky side toward the rug, shiny side facing your). 4. Take one of the rubber Ruggies and stick the shiny side to the tape you just applied to the rug. The pebbled side should now be facing you. 5. Place the corner of the rug with Ruggie attached down on the floor. 6. Repeat for the other 3 corners. I have scraped hardwood, and once I attached the Ruggies, and laid the rug back down, SUCCESS! This rug isn't going anywhere. ADDED NOTE: I was curious what would happen if I pulled the rug up to vacuum - would the Ruggies still work? So I peeled one corner back up off the floor - when you do this, don't just rip it off the floor - the tape seems to sick well, but it is taped to a porous surface (your rug) and it's a good idea to peel it back carefully so as not to Rio the tape off the rug. When I placed the rug back down on the floor, it held firm. Bottom line - I'm iimpressed - don't let the bad reviews here faze you. This product is certainly not a scam. When applied according to the instructions, they work great.

POOR product
I read ever letter of directions to the T and followed ALL directions. I have several of those harder than usual type rugs so I did apply the black adhesive included in the box (which BTW is black electrical tape) to the back of the rugs and placed them on top of the Ruggies for extra gripping power...lasted for about a week. I tried rinsing and dried the Ruggies completely...still slipping all over the floors!I would not recommend these to any one looking for a great product for those impossible rugs that keep sliding all over your floors, this product is a farce. The only way they could work and last a bit longer than usual is if you placed them onto the back of a rug that already has gripping rubber on the back side of it! So what would be the reason for buying this? Once again I have found the results of buying something advertised on TV a true disappointment with even cheaper results.

I love this product!!
I bought my first pckg of RUGGIES at Walgreen's and the second pckg from Amazon. I needed another pckg because I gave the second set to my grandson. I love them! A wonderful product! I put the RUGGIES on a rug that the entry door has to clear. Kids, people and pets walk over the rug every time they enter the house. That rug never moves! About every 2 or 3 months the rug will start to slip from dust and dirt build up. I pull the RUGGIES off, wash them in the sink with dish soap and warm water. I use a wet paper towel to wipe off the black backing that is on the rug, reapply the RUGGIES when they dry, flip the rug over and put the rug down in front of the door. It is good for another few months. I can vacuum over it, sweep around it, kids come in and out, the RUGGIES hold the rug in place. I think this is one of the best products I have purchased. I would swear by it. I ordered from Amazon Prime with the free 2 day shipping. It came on the second day. By the way, the RUGGIES were $2.00 cheaper by ordering them from Amazon. It was a great deal all around!

Didn't work and missing the tape.
The grippers stuck to the floor ok but not to the rug therefore the rug still slips as before. The instructions said that if they did not stick to the rug, to apply the rug tape that was supposed to be included in the package but my package contained no tape. I will have to go out and buy my own tape to stick the grippers to the rug and hopefully it will work. I probably would have given this item a positive rating if the tape was included and the grippers stuck.

Great for Zombie Attacks
. . . because it only sticks to human flesh. Of course, it doesn't adhere to living flesh well enough to cause any bodily harm. I'll be saving these in my Prepper's Hidey Hole for use as a first line of defense against a Zombie Attack in the apocalypse. My plan is to tar these to the front stoop and rear patio area. In the best case scenario, they will stick to zombies' feet, preventing their advance into my home. If the assailants are not stopped dead in their tracks (couldn't resist that one), they may be distracted,or even fascinated, by the traction and resultant difficulty with forward movement. At the very least, this will slow them down some, buying me some preparation time. Seriously, though, these things feel very sticky to the hands when they come out of the box, seeming perfect for their intended purpose. However, they do not stick to rugs, even lightweight ragrugs, very well at all. And by not very well, I mean that even with the rug positioned where I wanted it with its corner folded over, I couldn't get the ruggy's adherence to withstand replacement of the corner of the rug to the floor. So, I tried sticking the ruggy to the non-glossy tile floor first and then putting the rug down over it, without much success. The thing wouldn't stick at all to either the hardwood or tile (and I don't have marble, granite, or high sheen glazed tiles, either). By the way, I was trying to stick down a 3' x 1.5' ragrug that normally sits in the entryway for placement of wet boots after removal, and we never got to the wet boots part, because the ruggies just didn't hold the rug. The one that got away when I abandoned the project did manage to find the bottom of my bare foot later, and it stuck quite well. Luckily, I wasn't stuck walking in circles, though, because, as I said, the thing did not stick to the floor at all. My foot was really no worse for the wear, either. Basically, these things adhere to human flesh exclusively. I would normally give a product that failed this miserably a lower rating, but I'm hopeful that someday I will be glad that I stashed them for a Zombie Apocalypse. I know you are laughing at me now, but even the CDC wants us prepared for such an untoward event, as evidenced by their video series on Zombie Preparedness (go ahead and type it into your search engine of choice, "CDC and Zombies."). In summary, these are recommended for preppers who both haven't ruled out the possibility of a zombie attack and have not yet completed their perimeter security plans. For sticking rugs to floors, not so much.

Ruggies dont work
i got them because i had a wood floor layed and at the foyer front door the floor raised up at least an inch from the new floor-there fore i could not lay a rug in front of the door any more to protect the floor-----because the sweep under the door would pull the rug open with it and pile it up in a pile over in the corner. So i layed the Ruggies under the rug---- placed it over the new wood in front of the door---tried to open the door and i had to pull and pull again and there went the rug again smooching over into the corner with the door opening!!!! The Ruggies did not hold--shame---i really thought i solved my problem. so no rug to protect front foyer new wood now!!

Worked okay....
I was excited to get Ruggies for my pup Bruno's steps that he uses to get onto the bed. I noticed the steps sliding around when he would jump off of them. From reading the reviews I knew the trick to making these work. From the reviews it seems this product was a 10 when used with the double sided tape it came with. A lot of people gave it bad reviews because they weren't using the tape to make the Ruggie stick to the Rug or in my case the puppy steps, they were just using the Ruggie itself and it wasn't sticking the the rug which made it useless... Well, my Ruggies came today and I was pumped to try them. When I opened the box I specifically was looking for the tape, the key to making these work and MY PACKAGE DIDN'T COME WITH ANY. Boo.. What a bummer. The Ruggie wouldn't stick to the pet steps but did stick really well to the floor so I put 4 Ruggies down and placed the steps on top of them and luckily it worked just the same. So all and all good product. Would have gave it 5 stars if it would have come with the tape.

No problem with these
I'm not sure why some have given this product such a bad review. Perhaps, understanding just how these work may be necessary to explain to others before they purchase this item. The package should include at least a package of 4 slick thin black triangle shaped pieces (one for each corner of the rug to be applied BEFORE the actual sticky thicker piece is applied) and 4 thicker pads So it goes this way: 1) apply one thin (must peal off the backing from the flat black piece) and place it on each corner of the rug as shown on the box, then 2) apply the thicker piece sticky side down on the flat black corner piece. I usually leave the top thin protective cover on the sticky pieces in place before removing them to make sure the rug is exactly where I want it to lie. 3) Then when you're satisfied with the rug placement, remove the sticky piece coverings, press or stand on the corner to stick it down and your rug won't move. I have four large dogs in and out of my home who constantly had the rug runners sliding everywhere (have laminate flooring which is very slick) these Ruggies hold the long rug runners down in place. My rug runners are wool. Good luck.

Super Klebkraft!

Worked perfectly for my application, but your mileage may vary
Why I bought it * I have carpet stair runners on my hardwood stairwell that would shift, which would sometimes scare my dogs when they climbed the stairs * Note that my stair runners have rubber bottoms, which work very well with the gripper pads. If you have a fabric bottom rug, your mileage will likely vary, as there is a chance the included Ruggit Tape may not stick well to it. The Good Parts * Installs in minutes. I used two pads per stair runner. You need four for a full mat/rug though. * Adheres well to smooth surfaces like rubber. If you have a fabric bottom, the package includes "Ruggit Tape", which has an adhesive that sticks to the fabric. You then stick the Ruggit to that Ruggit Tape. I did not test this because it did not apply to my situation. * Reusable. The material is similar to the pads you put in your car dashboard to hold your phone in place. I find that material tends to work well. In terms of durability, I will update this review if I have problems over time. * So far in my use, it does not mark the floor. Could Be Better * I feel like the product is a little expensive. $9.99 would be the sweet spot for me, but having said that, the improved safety on my stairs still makes the product worthwhile for me. Good To Know * Not really a con, just the nature of the beast - if the pads get dirty, they will stop sticking, so you may have to clean them periodically to keep them sticky.
