I have dry ears and need to remove the "dandruff" (not wax) twice weekly. I have to buy a new one every year because the coating on the lens delaminates. I used to wonder if it was mold (yuck!), but the last two I've had did it as I was wiping it gently with lens paper. I've had about 5 of these so far, and they've all done it. Ive tried different wiping methods to no avail. It always happens when they are six months to a year old. But they seem to be the only ones on the market.
