Good product but you need to measure your water heater. I thought I would have plenty since it says it covers a 60 gallon but it does not cover ny 50 gallon.My water heater is 55 inches high, so either way I went around it I was going to be too short or not long enough and the piece I cut off won't make up the difference. It is 4 ft wide by maybe 70 inches.

The single blanket did not completely cover my 50 gallon water heater. Covers about 75%. My water heater has a circumference of about 65 inches, so I am about 17 inches short. Will require a second blanket.You use the trimmed blanket remnants to cover the top, and this requires more tape than comes in the kit. I but I would advise buying a roll of tape as I needed it to complete my install.Bottom line: thumbs up, but you may need 2 and a roll of tape.

This insulation for my water heater was what I needed.

Blanket did not fit the specified "gallon" heater I have. I made it work by piecing it together, but it did not fit as I had hoped. Tape included was nice, and the blanket seems thicker than an inch, which is great! I'll see if my electric/ water bill change at all from this product

Item was as described (except R value was listed as 19.5 on the label). Does not come with enough foil tape for installation so plan on buying more. I did not have any problem with the installation and it fit my 50 gal gas tank well with only minor cutting around the gas valve.

The water heater in my apartment sits in a utility closet beside the thermostat. That suits me fine during the winter, since I don't have the heat up too high. During the late spring and summer, though, I'm not interested in spending money to air condition the apartment in order to fight the water heater. The waterheater blanket actually slipped into the closet without need for much tape. (I could have done the job without any, really, since the heater is very close to the walls.) My electric bills and my comfort tell me that it is doing the job I wanted, saving me money and helping me to stay cool this summer.Who knows? Next winter I may remove the blanket for the heating season. (Not kidding.)

Like many others who purchased this product it did not fit all the way around the water heater. I had to cut excess off the top to fill in the gap in the middles. It didn't seem to add to the heat in the water heater, but maybe it will bring the bill down if it keeps it warmer longer.
