In a world of low quality cheaply built products, this cheese slicer offers a pleasant surprise. I was impressed by the high quality look, feel and performance of this slicer. It appears to be made of polished stainless steel. It has a little heft to it that adds to the high quality feel. Comes with a replacement cutting wire also if needed. I have been using this several times a week since receiving it and again couldn’t be happier with it’s performance. Clean up is quick and easy.I bought a hand crank cheese slicer in the same order and have used it once. The crank slicer works okay but definitely more cumbersome and cleanup was time consuming for just slicing one block up or making a sandwich.This compact simple stainless slicer is much handier and more adjustable for desired slice thickness.

I've been using this type of cheese slicer for years and this is no exception to the style and design so I can honestly say it's solid built, as are most. If you don't already know it, you should know that these wires break frequently enough so it's nice that they've sent along a couple extras. For anyone reviewing these that complain about the wires breaking have obviously not used these types of cutters much. It's what they do.

My mom had one of these when I was growing up but it’s been many years since I’ve seen one until I discovered this one on Amazon. I buy block cheese and until I received this, my slicing ability was iffy at best. This one lets you adjust it for tour desired thickness of slices. The only issue I have is that the screws that hold your choice in place, seem to loosen easily. That’s a problem because I am having to repeatedly tighten the screws in order to get a slice with a uniform thickness. Maybe that issue is only with mine and not all of them. I still think mine is a worthwhile investment despite the inconvenience. It also brings back memories of being in the kitchen with my mom who is no longer with us. Try it out if you’re frustrated cutting nice, even slices of cheese.

Best cheese slicer I've ever had. Its been 7 months and the wire is still tight and haven't needed to replace yet. Cuts any cheese with ease.

Not quite what I was hoping for - but that's partly because I didn't know what to expect. Not easy to cut thin slices of some cheeses - like cheddars - and useless with soft cheeses. Requires some adjustments - not complex but also not what I want to be doing constantly. I will be buying a similar device that uses a wire with a base unit that acts as a hinge platform.

Well-made product. Sturdy cheeses cutter. Wire does not slip when using. Should last a long time.
