Great!
What a great product! I could put up the curtains by myself, which saved money. These are thin and elegant looking with my delicate lace curtains and sheers, yet they spanned the wide window without bowing. My only complaint is that the company sends them in flimsy boxes instead of mailing tubes, so they often come bent. Yet they are cheap so I re-ordered them and eventually got enough that weren't damaged. I have nine of them in my house.

Thin and flimsy, but they'll do the job... for now
I should've paid closer attention to the description. These were much thinner than I had expected. They are not going to work for what I had intended, but I can use them elsewhere. As of right now, they're holding up the short panels in my bathroom. But I haven't added the drapery weights, and I don't think they could hold up once I do.These do not lock into place. These are the kind of tension rod you can get at Walmart for $3-4. But they're usually brass. Definitely not what I had expected. If your intentions are to use these for long sheers, I would look elsewhere.I won't be returning. I can use them until I get my window treatments up. And I can still use them for something, even once they are.

I dont like to be so closed in as I can not ...
These rods were always my choice in apartment life just after college. But I now use it to hang a curtain across my bedroom door in the summer to keep the air conditioning in, without having to shut the door (Living alone: I dont like to be so closed in as I can not hear what is going on in the rest of my house). It allows the cat to come and go also. Keeps my air conditioning bill down when I sequester the room like this. I use it in the winter too - to keep the heat in the living room higher than the back bedroom area. These rods always served me well for curtains on windows...you can get them at any walmart and they come in different colors (or you can spray paint them like I do so they match the decor / curtain). This particular company sent me the rod, and the UPS man left it on my front door step with a RIGHT ANGLE to it. But the comapny refunded my money immediately and they did not require me to send it back or show them pictures of how it arrived. Nice customer service, but I dont think this is an item that should be shipped in a long box.

Perfect fit, no hardware needed
Terrific purchase - they are great, good quality, easy to use and hold just as expected. I decided I just wanted to put up curtain inbetween my double hung windows, so I can still see the wood frame, and I have a wall of windows, so a long rod would be "so" much with a curtain on it. These are great, I'm already thinking of getting more to use in other windows, etc. I love not having to put in any hardware. We have an old house and upstairs, the window frames have many holes already from valances and the walls are plastic, so not very strong. These can fit into any window frame, based on the size you buy. Amazon seems to have every size, so this is fantastic for me.

Way Too Weak To Be Useful
It's just not strong enough. I bought the tension rod to create a divided area of my trunk. I wanted it to create a small section (about 1/5 from the side of the car) so I could store a few things that tend to roll around in my trunk: a hoodie that's rolled up and tied... a blanket, also rolled up and tied, a small pillow... all things that are VERY light. This tension rod is so weak, when I make a slow right-hand turn at 10mph, the force of the pillow and blanket knocks it out of place. These are NOT heavy items. Also, to make the rod longer, you turn the tip. I did want a tight fit but if you try to push one end in more than a half of an inch, the full rod just slides back in, thus not creating any type of "tension" at all.I'm sure this isn't the purpose of the rod... it's probably made for a curtain of lace or something but I was shocked it was SO extremely weak.To test further, I put it up in a small doorway and hung ONE shirt on it with a plastic hanger... and it fell. It cannot hold one shirt and one plastic hanger. Try to make the rod larger so you'd think it will be tighter and it cannot handle a tight fit... one end will just slip back inside and you'll have to unscrew it again. I'm going to throw it out. I don't see a use for it.

28" to 48" tension rod.
bought these to hand some Japanese norens I purchased - one for a window, one for a doorway... Strong... holds nicely in place, yet easy to move when you need to. Twist to lengthen - easy- yet sturdy in place. They are perfect as they are skinny - not to thick. I would definitely purchase again. I will of course update my reviews should new info seem useful.

Flimsy, cheap
The packaging was decent. The rod itself looked to be in the process of rusting and the seam was starting to separate. The spring isn't to par. Very cheap, feels ready to "pop" at any time. I'm putting this in a room with light curtains on it. So it's suitable for the job I need it to do. But, as another reviewer mentioned, if a child will be tugging on the curtain at all the rod will give. I knocked it out of place just setting the curtains. I suggest checking your local walmart/target/home improvement store/etc for something as cheap but perhaps of better quality if you foresee needing a sturdy, reliable, or strong curtain rod. Or perhaps invest in one of the slightly costlier rods with better reviews.

Exactly what I needed!
Exactly what I needed! I needed a small, light curtain valance rod for my lace valance for my kitchen window. This rod is very light and is the right width in extension. It should be packaged attached to a hard material that does not bend, however, as it arrived slightly bent. My husband was able to straighten it back out though. It is exactly what my kitchen valance required. I wouldn't suggest it for a heavy curtain, however, as it is small and lightweight metal. Good price, perfect for a light curtain or valance!
