Fun!
I bought this for my 7 year old. After having read previous reviews I was a bit hesitant but this is what he asked for for his birthday, so I bought it. The zombie brain is very fizzy tasting and almost tastes like those candies that fizz in the middle (not my favorite). The zombie barf wasn't too bad, like watered down chunky Jello (it is supposed to be vomit), the bugs and skin are made from the same stuff and my son loved these the best like gummy fruit is the consistency. You are instructed to refrigerate the bugs and skin for 10 minutes, we did it for longer though not on purpose and they came out perfectly. If you are expecting sugary sweet candy, you will be disappointed, but they really don't taste bad at all. We had a lot of fun and I am even thinking about buying Alien Autopsy as well. We enjoyed this very much.

so gross
the product itself is very cool... the activities were really fun for my 2 and 5 year olds... simple measuring and mixing. however... the only thing they would eat was the gummy bugs... the zombie barf was sooo unappealing~ blue rasberry chunkies in sour liquid... i should have held off on buying the refill, i dont think we will ever get through the original included packets

Fun with creepy stuff.
It's lots of fun for little kids that like good scary fun (Scooby-Doo type of scary.) It's a candy-machine basically so you want to limit it's use of course. But kids get the idea of what an experiment is as well as what a scientist does and what a lab is. (Basically: Let's do this and this and see what happens!) The reward is a sweet treat at the end. It can be a little messy which the parents can quickly clean up in the kitchen sink. *This gives the kids a chance to learn how to be careful and neat, as well as giving you the opportunity to teach them how to wash it up afterwards. They also learn how to look at the directions (pictures and words); follow them; -AND- how to use a measuring cup to add the water! Plus it's one yellow eyeball moves and rolls when you use the toy. We put on some Halloween music when we did it. Fun!

Worthwhile Purchase
I bought this for my 7 year old son, though all 4 of my children like it. The recipes are easy, and cleanup is easy. We haven't tried all the recipes yet, But I can say that we tried the zombie barf, and it tastes disgusting, lol. It was fun to make and looked cool, and I would even make it again, but I wouldn't drink it! The Skin recipe tasted ok though. Will try the rest soon! The only complaint I have, is the price. After I could not find this product at walmart for several weeks, I finally gave in to look for it online. I usually don't like ordering online because of having to pay shipping and handling. Sure enough I ended up paying 32.00 on amazon, and a week later it finally came in stock at Walmart, and it was priced at 19.99.

Love it!
My grandson loved ir! He is still enjoying it with his parents. His mother says it is so easy to clean-up after. She will be ordering refills as needed. Only issue I have is that your price was considerately higher but this item was delivered to my door. I will ordering more items as needed. Thank you.

dr. dreadful zombie lab. "dr. dreadful is right"
My 9 yr old had his heart set on "dr dreadful zombie lab, for months b4 christmas. We looked at every store, every store website, we were told they were flying off the shelves. once again, i hopped on amazon, where i always find what i need (thanks amazon!) A fee of my husband's co-workers had to go on amazon to. Ok after all the weeks of hustle&bustle, we finally got it, in just a few days. Christmas came, and my son, who i might menton is autistic, was thrilled. My husband and my son, sat at the table, and put it together. My review does not reflect on amazon! The thing was made of cheap plastic, it leaked when you at "brain mix" (a.k.a, jello)! It, in our opinion was a complete waste of $30. But, it made our son happy. I, however was dissapointed in the product. Plus, the "drink refills, etc" i.believe are around 11-13$$$.. ummm. No! Hope you all had a great new year, oh.one more piece of advice, when you do use this dr. Dreadful, make sure you put tons of news paper under the"skull" or you will possibly end up with a red, orange, etc. Of a mess!

A Letdown
My nine-year-old daughter was really looking forward to using this kit with her dad. The number of projects was overstated on the box. The ones that they were able to do tasted awful. (The claim is that they look gross but taste really good.) They barf did look creepy and had a weird texture, which was cool; however, we could barely handle even a taste of it. This kit looked a lot more interesting in the t.v. ads than it was in real life.

CAUTION - Not for kids with egg allergies
This was the the one thing my 12 year old really wanted for Christmas, and he was very excited when he opened it. Unfortunately, my son is severely allergic to egg. The outside of the box mentioned that ONE of the ingredients contained egg. However, after we opened it, the instructions explained that the single ingredient containing egg was a required ingredient for ALL of the concoctions the toy contained, which meant my son couldn't eat any of them. As a result he was very upset and we ended up substituting a ton of Legos to assuage his disappointment.I rated this "ok" in all categories since I didn't find fault with the toy per se, just the fact that the labeling on the box wasn't clear that although only one packet contained egg, that it had to be combined with all the others, making all of them unsafe. Also, Amazon might be wise to add an allergen warning to the "choking hazard" warning on the web site, since this is a toy that contains food, and there is no way to know from the Amazon product description that it might contain allergens.

Not too much for your money
Very expensive for the product. It definitely would require close supervision by an adult to play with this.
