Ergon SME3 Pro Saddles

It's very difficult to rate a bicycle saddle after only a month of use. But this early in the Spring, I am convinced this is much less painful than my old Henge saddle. It's more comfortable after 2+ hour rides than the Specialized Henge comp that I used to use. I needed a change from the softer saddle of the Henge, and the reviews of this saddle are what convinced me to buy it. Also can get it with red trim, which matches my bike. A nice plus. he biggest thing I have noticed is there doesn't seem to be hot spots. My other saddle would hurt my left sit bone tissue after a half hour, and I would be shifting mt weight a bit while pedaling, which isn't right. I thought it was just me, but the new Ergon SME3 saddle hasn't had the same issue, so it likely fits me better.

I was excited to give this saddle a try after seeing nothing but positive reviews on the Ergon brand. Unfortunately this saddle did not work for me. It is extremely hard just like my WTB Silverado but for some reason I just could not get comfortable on this saddle. It caused lower back pain and my arse was extremely sore, the worst its ever been from any saddle I've ever tried. I really wanted to like this saddle due to the design and look but it just wasnt for me. I may try the SMA3 instead as that is more of a full day xc style seat. I tend to do longer 20-30 mile rides so this one just wouldnt work.

I've recently come to love Ergon's seats. Despite not having as much cushion as other options, they tend to be the most comfortable if you are used to a bit of saddle time. The SME series if for more aggressive riding and so it's a bit flatter, with no concave edges/lips, and the shell is smoother to ensure it won't catch onto clothing. Basically, it's there to allow you to glide over it when you need to drop into some steeper descents. It's not as comfortable for longer rides as the SMC3 series but that just means the different product lines have their strengths where they are supposed to (SMC series if for long days in the saddle).

Great saddle! This is actually my second of this exact model and my fourth Ergon saddle. I have this same seat on my full suspension mountain bike and now on my gravel bike. It's an excellent seat for all day rides. I have a similar Ergon mountain bike saddle on my hardtail mountain bike. The other Ergon seat held up well, but I wore the covering off after about three seasons of hard riding. I think the reason these seats are so comfortable is because they have some flex built into the chassis.

Perfect saddles for mountain biking; I have a titanium 29er that had a Selle Italia gel flow saddle and was not a really good selection for this application. By looking at the seats I would have thought the Selle Italia would have been better but the Ergon SME3 Pro is way better fit.

The saddle is made of high quality materials, it's light in weight and it's comfortable.

I am 5'4" 140 lbs - excellent for me. Important to set the horizontal / vertical position just right for Ur own butt. Careful with the size, measure well. Cheers!!!

This seat is amazing. It feels hard, but is more comfortable than expected and ive done 70 miles on it without issue. The seat material is perfect as it allows you to move around easily.

Geschmacksache. Aber für meinen Allerwertesten total unbequem.Verarbeitung Top. Vorne zu breit und zu eckig. Und der Sitzkomfort hat mir nicht zugesagt. Hab alle Größen getestet. Wie gesagt kommt auf den Körperbau an und ist supjektiv. Vom Design aber einer der schönsten!
