Much More Soft and Warm
Purchased along with matching bottoms. A bit less expensive than the other premium merino long johns I own. However, these long johns are the king, by a long shot. You get more, way more. More material by a lot, better material, better design, and a bit larger fit per size as in longer arms and legs which works for saving your ankles and wrists from the cold. Very soft and warm. Merino wool is the best base layer for cold weather in general. I believe a good base layer is the first step to staying warm in part because it's lighter and takes up less space than an outer layer. Nice long johns in general cause me to enjoy winters more and want to do more stuff outside. Inside I can turn the heat down and save the cost of the garment in bills over time.

I find myself wearing this a lot
If you're thinking that you *might* want this, I'd invite you to give it a try. When I ordered it, I wasn't sure I'd keep it. After trying it on for a bit, I knew it wasn't going back. as time goes on, I find myself wearing it more often than expected. The shirt is soft and well-woven for heavy 400 merino. It fits slim to normal size frames very well, looks good, fgoes well with everything,, and as expected it's nice and warm. If you're out in real cold, or even sitting for a while in 55 degrees, you'll really appreciate this shirt. I know I do.I'll feel the wool's presence a bit if my base layer is short sleeved, but not any more than I do with my well-made 250-weight wool shirts. If I use a long-sleeved base layer, even a thin skiing base layer, I won't even feel it.

Superbly comfortable with the phenomenal versatility of wool
I don't live in a cold climate and don't travel much so this may never go below freezing. But if you want to know whether this is worth having for casual, I-don't-want-to-feel-chilled-on-a-chilly-day use, the answer is YES!First, because it is incredibly comfortable. Maybe the cut would feel too roomy to some super-fit people, but it's great for me. It's long enough for a good tuck. The finish is soooooo smooth, smoothest of anything merino that I own, and I own a lot of merino. It's butter. And since its merino it will not suffocate you in warmer conditions. I wear it at 60 degrees no problem indoor or out.I love Minus 33 (icebreaker is hit or miss for me) but I took a flyer on WoolX and it paid off bigtime. Everything about tis garment says quality. It is a guaranteed chill-stopper, but it doesn't do much against a cold wind on its own, of course. That's the nature of the material with its breathability. Throw even an el cheapo synthetic windbreaker over it just to literally break the wind and you're set and toasty.

Skip the other brands. These are the best I've found.
I got the bottoms as well. These are perfect. The length is just right for my 6' frame. The bottom goes down over my butt so I can tuck it in and it wont come out when I bend over. The sleeve are long and the thumb holes are at just the right position. Not too small either like someone else said. The material is a lot tighter weave than Minus33, Smartwool and Icebreakers too. Those I kept getting tiny holes in because the weave was fairly open compared to these. You could see through those, not this brand. The are denser without being too bulky. It was 20F out today when I tried them on and with just these and pants and a light jacket to block the wind I was warm. I'm gonna get a spare set as backups. Also I DIDN'T get these for free as a paid review. I put out my own money after trying the other brands and having them only last one season. They were warm. These are just better made. Worth the price for sure.

Love it! Wish I could afford the bottoms!
Warm, soft, not itchy, quality stiching, well made, looks great! I don't have a single complaint! ...except for how much I paid for it. For around $60 or $70 this is a 5 star thermal all day! ...but I paid about twice that. Maybe I'm out of touch with how much a quality thermal costs nowadays, but to me this is just overpriced.

Fits this tall woman needing length accommodation. Quality is remarkable
I love this shirt. I am a 5'10 125 lbs woman and have a tough time with length in the arms and torso and so I defaulted to a men's small. I was keeping expectations neutral since I wasn't sure the small would be snug enough since this is a man's shirt. My goal was to make an accommodation with length. Viola, it fits perfectly! The quality is beautiful and it feels so soft on my skin. I will be trekking at 15K feet and need a heavy base layer. I hate being cold but love hiking mountains.

Distinctly better material than another brand's same weight rating
Warm and breathable without being stifling, even when in from the cold - versatile. The wool weave is substantial and dense enough. Good stitching. Very effective thumbhole feature. Usable early to late three seasons. For clay shooters - the material gives a perfect non-slip non-grab mount. Looks like it will be durable as well. Avoid the cheap alternatives, they are cheap in more ways than price. This is a great value, with definitely better performance. Company's labeling and tags also reflect a thoughtful group of people.

Quality seems incredible
The quality seems very very high, my only complaint is it is tight in the forearms (and by NO means do I have big forearms). Wish there was a little bit more room there. It also fits fairly tight, so if you wanted it loose you might want to order at least 1 size up.I'm 6'4" 180lb, normally a medium fits me width wise (but is fairly tight), I ordered a large and it is still tight up against my skin (or maybe tight isn't the right word, it isn't uncomfortably tight but there isn't any extra room. So if you want it more comfortable you might want to order a size up.At 6'4" the length (including arm length) is great!
