Thule 7533535 Cradle Strap Assembly

These appear to be the originals. The toughest part with putting these on is pulling the old ones off - it just depends on what kind of condition your rack is in - mine is pretty beat up from being on the car outside all the time. Got it done and putting the new ones on was easy. Just a tip. For those that keep breaking them - likely you are trying to stretch them too tight. They need room to flex with the bumps on the road. As long as the straps are snug and you have fully hooked the loop over the notch, your bike shouldn't go anywhere. My originals lasted 10+ years - the car is always outside w/ the rack and I use the rack constantly - winter and summer with MT bikes and my heavy cruiser.

Should have contacted Thule directly as their website claims a lifetime warranty.

I have a 16 year old Rav-4 with an equally old Thule bike rack mounted through the back tire. The straps had finally eroded and snapped. I checked the Thule site to buy a new rack and it seems that my car is too old. The bike shop that services my equally old bike suggested to buy the straps. And I found them here in the ReRack shop on Amazon. I took the cradles off the rack, and clipped in the new straps and off I went with my old car and my old bike for a great ride with no worries about my bike flying off the rack. GREAT Solution! Easy to take off and install. The solution that saved me a lot of money and time.

Heavy duty compared to the ones that came with my rack. I had to work a little to anchor it into position. I gave it for stars instead of 5 because I had one break right away. Maybe I did something wrong with the first one I tried and I’m not sure what I did but I actually had one break at the side of the hole I anchored into. Good thing that the kit was more than what I needed. Good product overall.

I have an older Thule bike rack and these straps fit perfectly. They slide through the rack and hook into the cradle.If you haven't replaced yours yet, there is a little screw that holds the black cap onto the end of the rack.Unscrew and remove cap, then the cradles should slide off. You may need a little WD40 to help.Mine had never been replaced. I cleaned up the ends and painted them to prevent any more rust.Very happy to find the right strap!!

Perfect original parts for an old Thule Spare Tire Rack. The Rack is about 15 yrs old and works perfect besides the rotted straps. Like new now. They are sold in singles and I needed four. Really strange that Amazon limits the purchase to 2. The racks are for 2 bikes, so 4 straps are required. I had a friend order the other 2

Expensive about 2 times what I paid 2 years ago. It's expensive if you need to replace several.
