I tried other (lower cost) brands that kept burning out. I bought this for my son who uses two monitors in addition to his Samnsung Notebook 9 screen (three screens). He is an Electrical Computer Engineering student and has a lot of USB devices plugged in (mouse, keyboard, laboratory circuit breadboard, etc.). This USB hub takes all that and keeps on delivering. I bought another one for my Lenovo X1 Yoga ThinkPad and it is working like a champ. Both of our USB hubs by Elecife have been working without any glitches.I like to connect my PC via a USB-C magnetic coupling, but I have not tried it with this. I simply plug the Elecife USB C hub directly into my USB-C port on my PC. I fear that the magnetic coupling may cause voltage spikes which hurt the hub's circuitry. I will post an addendum to this if I do try that and learn something.UPDATE: I encountered a problem with one of the two hubs that I bought. One simply stopped working all together - no data, no power, no video. I contacted Elecife via email and they remedied the problem immediately. Great Customer Service!!! I will look for Elecife brands the next time I need something and have a choice.

I have been using a Pluggable powered hub for the past two years. It work well for what it needed to do, however, having only a single HDMI & a single DVI port was going to be limiting for my plan to upgrade to dual 4K monitors.Read through a few reviews and stumbled across a few YouTube reviews for dual 4K port hubs and remembering that my Lenovo Legion had a usb-C port, it was hopeful anticipation at first sight.It arrived the next day, I quickly removed my previous power plug hub and found a 2nd HDMI cable to plug this one in. At first my Windows 10 64bit balked a bit at the resolution change, however a quick reboot solved that issue. One less power cord and plug, faster response time being on USB-C and not a USB 2.0..I'm good for now, will add to this review once I find the two 4K monitors that I want.

This hub is a great accompaniment to any modern laptop.It's rare to find a hub with two HDMI ports. The fact that one can do 4k@60hz is even more rare. That's important when you're hooking up to an external monitor and want to get the best quality.I really wanted a 1000M ethernet port as a backup for my laptop's wifi. This definitely delivered. Now I can just plug into the wall and don't have to worry about weak wifi signals.The case is a very smooth and solid-feeling aluminum. The USB-C pigtail is about 6 inches long.I highly recommend this hub. It will make your laptop experience much much better!I was given this product to test in exchange for a free sample.

I bought this mainly to run 3 monitors (Windows laptop plus 2 monitors). It works great. I also ended up attaching my keyboard, mouse, headset etc. this makes it very easy to swap work and home laptops in my home office. It is compact and appears to be well built. So many features I have not used them all but everything I have used worked perfectly. I am a software developer and have little use for glitchy products. You can’t go wrong if you check and make sure it has the connections for your needs. Highly recommended.

I bought this unit to drive two monitors for my new Surface Pro 8. I got my Surface Pro 8 today. When I plug this in, my Surface Pro 8 keeps beeping. I plug my old iKling USB C hub in and there is not beeping. I cannot find a driver for this. There is no website for Elecife except for a registration page. So, I am going to return this Elecife unit.

I got this docking station so that I could switch between work and home laptops without moving a whole bunch of cables. The advertised feature set is great given the cost. Mostly this adapter works pretty well, but there are a couple of areas where it does not perform to specifications. First the Good. The ethernet and USB A connectors work fully, and the display adapter does work with a 4K display. But there are also a couple of shortcomings. First, the 4K display only works at a 30Hz refresh (on either laptop). When operating directly from HDMI outputs, both laptops run the display at 60 Hz while using the same HDMI video cable and monitor. Second, the USB C port would not work with my Anker PowerConf speaker. I had to plug it into one of the A connectors to make it work. Finally, the adapter does run very warm to the touch. That does not give me confidence in its long-term reliability.Overall, for the price, it's a keeper for now. But I will keep my eye out for something better.

I've tried this on both my chromebook as a personal computer and my Macbook Pro as my work computer. Both computers work really flawlessly with this device.Design: It fits nicely in your hand with a good heft. The metal is a nice gunmetal grey. The ports are inlet a bit to give it a nice interior bevel which also lends it a nice feel in the hand. The underside has two rubber bars which keep the thing where you put it.
