Quality of the product (wood used, construction w/ perfect dovetails, steel slides, roller bearings, auto-close mechanism) is top-notch. I bought the large single can 50-qt that holds a 13 gal trash bag perfectly with just a few inches wrapping over the top. Like all others, instructions were somewhat vague. Had to use a magnifying glass to see some of the diagrams. Measure 12 times before screwing things down! I used the bottom cabinet and top drawer for this. I took a piece of finished 1/2" plywood, stained it the color of the wood cabinets in the kitchen, attached the drawer and door to it from the backside. Then attached that combined piece to the front of the Rev-a-Shelf unit. The left to right slide adjustments need to be placed in the middle of left and right before attaching so you actually have some left or right travel to align perfectly. The "micro adjustment" screws were of no use, they are suppose to be a top tilt adjustment. Mine all fit snug but I did try them and it was useless. But the overall slide out and soft close on this is the greatest. The trash can is out of sight but a simple pull and it slides out for super easy access. Expensive but SO worth the cost.

The slides are what make this golden. You cannot slam it, even if you try. The door stops about a halfway from totally closing and moves into a slow motion close. It's also rock-solid construction. The trash container unit is made of maple that is dove-tailed together into a box. The Blum Blumotion slides are solid 10 gauge thickness steel, pretty rigid, but flexible in alignment enough to install perfectly. They are some funky, complicated Euro mechanism that works really, really well.Installation is also fairly easy. The unit comes with a template that you tape to the floor of the cabinet and run along a center line. Screw positions are marked precisely when the center line is chosen correctly. Don't doubt the template. It is absolutely exact, easy and straightforward. It installs with as little as six screws, but you'll want to put in all 10, plus the door to make things rock solid.Items to note:- INCLUDES GREEN LID contrary to Amazon description. If you want the grey lid, you should buy it, but see comment below.- Lid of inner can will open into any kind of protruding handle from the drawer above it, so I wouldn't bother with two lids.- Space requirements on Rev-A-Shelf Website are actually more generous than necessary. I found it needed slightly less than 21" depth.- There are four additional holes on the cross braces to allow extra screws to make it even more rock solid.- The Blumotion mounts along with the Rev-A-Shelf set screws allow adjustment in both X- and Z- directions for the door. In other words, the door tilt can be adjusted, as well as the door rotation by just using screws.- NOTE: You will want to loosen the front clamps before twisting the set screws to adjust tilt. This can involve both upper and lower set screws. Also, I would just screw them all in to bottom out after the door is attached, just so they don't vibrate loose. The set screws were loose when new.- It would be nice if you could buy a blue or green trash can, but Rev-A-Shelf only makes them in grey. The cans and lid can be purchased separately as replacements, I discovered.- I installed this as an upgrade to some crummy, non-standard Cabinet 2000 MDF cabinets in a new home, and by paying attention to dimensions, I was able to make it work. This kit is quite flexible.This unit is, by all measures, awesome.

I was a little hesitant because of the price, but wow, after it arrived I felt it was very reasonable. Very well made, high quality materials and almost idiot proof installation. Seriously. I had more difficulty removing the previous all metal broken one than I did installing this. It looks great, and it should last decades. We couldn't find one we liked in the store and we have purchased two of these for different homes. Sturdy and useful.
