Is the temperature displayed in the projection inside or outside?

It displays both inside and outside temperatures.

I believe the projection cycles through indoor and outdoor temperatures ? Can the current time and outdoor temperature be static instead?

Don't know but the cycling of the temperature is a good feature so you know what the difference between in and out is. The time is always static

Does it have main power supply cable

Yes it does, it also has a small flat cell battery but it will not work from just that! you need to connect from mains. If you buy one ( and they are good) don't be surprised when it cuts off for 3mins. At 1,2 or 3.00am its just resetting itself. Be careful not to place the outdoor Temp. Monitor too far away from the unit and place reasonably out of sunshine and heavy rain. After all that just enjoy knowing the time, the day and date a weather forecast and your inside & outside temperature. Cheers from a fellow customer.

What is the maximum operating range of the outdoor sensor from the main unit please?

I am a user of this unit. I placed my remote at the side wall of my bedroom window (about 4m range, West facing) I have also had it on a wall above the front door and it worked fine (about 8m range) but it was facing East so readings not useful. You just have to try it for yourself, if its out of range you'll soon know. I've had units like this for decades, this is my latest, I love how it gives you outside & inside temperature. If you get one don't be alarmed when the screen goes blank for 5 mins at 1.00am, 2.00am or 3.00am its resetting. Hope this answers your question.
