Can you use it dry to wipe dust off cars?

I guess you could, I personally have not used my mitt like that, I have used mine exclusively for washing, and then use a microfiber towel for drying. I would not use any item to "dust" a car, I would be afraid of micro scratches that would build up and show up over time. I just wash my car once a week, or more based on weather and amount driven. Hope this helps.
