If the bag is larger than your pump, it will work. If your pond is dirty with leaves and such, it will clog the bag and slow the pump. If your pond is clean, you should be in good shape.

Q: Is there a hole in it for the electrical? cord

There is only one opening that accommodates the electrical cords and the tubes.

Q: What is this product made of?

Sturdy, plastic like mesh. This bag works great. Keeps the crap out of my pump motor. I do have to pull bag out every few months and wash the bio film off of it.
