Straight and to the point.
Decent quality steel. I define decent quality as hard enough to not break, while soft enough to sharpen and hold an edge.Knife loses two stars though. One, the handle is unacceptably slippery. The finger grove just doesn't cut it for this length of knife and really needs and enclosed knuckleduster for the first finger for three reasons. Without it, you WILL drop this because of the size and weight of the knife and the lack of tackiness of the handle. It is difficult to pull out of its sheath. No joke. Worst of all, when you go to stab deep with this, your hand WILL slide up on the blade. At the very least that notch has to be deeper. Probably needs something tacky on the handle and the sheath loosened.Speaking of sheath, this on has an unfortunate hang up inside that damages the point if you are not careful sheathing it. Dull knives do not cut. Broken off points do not pierce. The time to find out a knife isn't up to code is not when you draw it, having damaged the point the last time you sheathed it.The good news is this is as simple as it gets with regard to edge. Straight and to the point, literally. Even a dweeb with a bench grinder could put an acceptable edge and point on this knife. I have the very best sharpening system money can buy and yes, that means the edge I put on this is stropped with a leather band by the time I am done. It came sharp. Now I can shave with it. Problem is, this design although easy, is also delicate. Some things to be aware of. This is a POOR choice for "self defense". No I will not go on for an hour about this. All I will say is if you think different, you prolly won't live an encounter you might need this. It IS, however a great murder weapon (a throw away)....as anyone who has been to prison will instantly recognize....as will any cop who sees it.God forbid you are arrested with it on your person, the term "shank" not knife will be in the police report and good luck if any jury has to hear it.I don't collect knives so much as I collect styles of knife fighting. This one is interesting but not practical. This knife is totally worth the money. But I would not carry it.

Nice midsized knife.
I love a good wharncliffe blade. This sucker is a good size. It was a little bigger than I imagined, but that was fine with me. The size puts it firmly within a general purpose utility knife. You won't baton wood with this, but it'll perform normal tasks with great aplomb. The blade is evenly ground and is almost shaving sharp out of the box. A few strokes on my ceramic rod, and now it's popping hairs. Hardness seems to be decent for a $25 knife. The handle is of two black plastic scales. They have diagonal cuts to give some grip. Without them or the sub hilt, the handle would be fairly slick. The scales on my sample were a little proud. A little sandpaper and they are good to go. I have however paid less for a knife this size and had better fitting. I have to take off half a star. The sheath is very secure when I first got it. It had to be pulled out with some force. As I worked it in and out a bit, the little nub that holds the blade by the choil began to wear away. Soon I believe I will new to modify the sheath to curl over the choil to keep the knife in. The sheath comes with two plates with screws to add a belt loop. I wear a leather belt a little over 1/8" thick, but the mold lines in the sheath make it to wear putting it on is almost impossible. Luckily there are plenty of holes to make an attachment system. I will be getting a blade-tech mount. For this a took off the other half star.Overall a good knife, with a couple of modifications, would be a five star knife. Would recommend.

Great knife
This is my second crkt dragon that I have purchased and I am very fond of it. I bought this one with modifying it in mind. It is very nice little knife. The steel is very sharp and there are no obvious flaws. The handle is small and anyone with large hands will not like it. It has an 1/8" spine that runs the length but starts to taper to a point in the last inch. This is made for a self defense thrust and not for outdoor use. Although you could probably prepare food with it. It has a large finger choil that fits nicely in my small hands and works nicely in a reverse grip. It has just enough weight behind it to make it easier when thrusting it in to whatever you want. It has a plastic/kydex style sheath and the knife locks in nicely and comes out with just a little bit of effort but it does rattle in the sheath and I think leather or a different design would have been a better choice for the sheath. This is a knife you will either love or not but I don't think you will hate it. As long as you keep in mind that it won't work with large hands.

CRKT does it again!!
razor sharp out of the box. slim, low profile and agile but with enough beef to get the job done in a tactical or utility situation. There have been complaints about the size of the handle. It is thin, but no big deal. I made a simple, tight wrap on the bottom two thirds of the tang with gutted 550 cord and it fits like a glove. I'm not a small guy either 6 ft 200 lbs. So don't buy into that "too small" jive. Now for the sheath, not bad really. comes with plates for a variety of cary option, i like that. Yes could probably carry it better in a number of facets with a custom made kydex sheath, but for a production scabbard, it works. Tight, positive snap in place. Plenty of room to carry extra paracord with out weighing it down. I will begin using this for EDC as soon as I get my tek Loc from Amazon. I'll carry horizontal. jimping is comfy and usefull, scales are nice, it looks bad ass and it's razor sharp. It's a winner. I'll probably grind down the pommel to make it a pry tool too. this will make the knife usable in pretty much any application. I'll probably even use it as a skinner for my next hog. It looks like a litle kitchen knife....from hell. At under 30 bucks you just cannot beat it. I think it is easily worth upwards of it's MSRP of 90 bucks. But that's just me....thx. enjoy!Comment if this helps..

Kleines, scharfes Messer
