Brilliant
Good characters. Good pacing. Good lore. What else could you want? Even though you could argue the storyline arc is telegraphed the actual details of how the expected outcomes occur is more than interesting enough to keep you reading

Disgraced Knight
Good storyline and interesting characters but a little slow in places and towards the end kept jumping from character to character very quickly. The storyline is still building but didn't grab me as a must read on, will probably have a break before book two.

Loved it, another cracker by this prodigious Author
Second in the series, which no doubt will eventually contain many books judging by Jonathan Moeller's incredibly high output. Its five years on from events in the prequel. (I wasn’t expecting that). Our Hero, Ridmark Arban, is giving himself a harder time than his enemies and adversaries. He's a religious knight who standards are too high even for himself. While others may have forgiven him, he can’t forgive himself. This results in his taking great risks in the hope he will go down fighting. (Great stuff). The author throws in a few twists and some nice characterisation. It seems to be another start at point A then follow the dotted line to point Z, kind of tale, except Jonathan introduces the hint of a love interest with a woman who is suffering from amnesia, but who suspects she may have a hidden wealth of dangerous knowledge, mainly due to the fact pretty much everyone she meets seems to want to sacrifice here to get that knowledge, if only she could remember what it was. But not our hero, his knightly code means he must forestall anything else on his agenda, like getting himself killed by taking on impossible odds. No, he has to save and then rescue her, while not getting himself killed while taking on impossible odds. It’s a very pacey story with everything you need to keep you entertained. It’s well written, fairly well edited and as always with Mr Moeller the current story ends with many unanswered questions which means I will HAVE to read the next. Great entertainment, which is all I really want out of a fantasy novel.

A fast paced adventure with interesting fantasy creatures
It took me a chapter or so to get into this book because it felt like I was missing too much information. However, from then on I really enjoyed it and I give it a rare (for me) 5 stars. Ex-swordbearer Ridmarkrescues a dwarf priest, Caius, from the orcs. However, the priest is also pretty handy in a fight and he and Ridmarkthen try and rescue a "damsel in distress" from another lot of orcs.Calliande is the "damsel" and she has awoken from 200 years of self imposed stasis. But she is alsosuffering from memory loss and doesn't remember that she was once a very powerful magic wielder or whoher enemies are. Bits of her memory come back throughout the book and some, but not all, of her power. However, different "baddies" want to capture her and take her power for themselves. There were some interesting fantasy creatures throughout the book and I enjoyed the relationship betweenRidmark and Caius. There was plenty of fighting with the orcs and other creatures but no sex or swearing. This could be read as a stand-alone book as some things were resolved/explained, though obviously it is setup that Ridmark has further adventures. As others have said, there were a fair few typos, added/transposed words, but I wouldn't let that stop you fromreading this fast paced fantasy adventure.

A fantastic introduction to a fantasy epic
The Frostborn series is one of my favourite fantasy series. Almost all books make you want to stay up late, just to see what happens in the next chapter. Superb.
