The Price is always high.
In a world filled with evil, heroes will rise an battle for a world. This story has much in common with the warhammer saga, so if you want alot of battle and the fight for a world I recommend this to you. The heroes are solid and well written, the story jumps around to each one, but blends well to the end.

Great potential, almost there.
Terrynoth is a Fantasy world where acclaimed Tabletop games Descent and Genesys: Terrynoth are based on. This world is rich in lore and very well described. For people that never played or read anything about this fantastic world is going to be really hard to follow this book. The author could have had this in mind, and made this story kore approachable for beginners. The second problem is the writing style was complicated and many times felt rushed. Too many great adventures with so many great character in so few pages was meant to be confusing and disappointing from the start. Each of the stories or arc should have its own book (at least Archerax and Ne’Krul), the battle scenes are describe wonderfully, but the end are just disappointing. The side characters are also great but then just taken away poorly. A great potential for a trilogy, but ruined in this format.

An Epic Fantasy tale
Overall it's a really good story, and highlights why Mr Guymer should be considered one of the pre-eminent fantasy epic authors of recent years. The book has a slow start to the tale, as it draws upon 4 main character / character groups and weaves them into one overall story. Don't let this put you off because the ending to the story is both epic, and heartbreaking at the same time. One of the strengths of the novel is the characterisation, making you really care about what happens to each and every person to whom you're introduced. I particularly enjoyed the old soldier Kurt and his story as it gave a human touch to the backdrop of the epic heros and their action.
