Perfect ... if you're not a tea snob!
The good: -- I admit it. I am lazy. I would never use a tea pot in the office; it's fragile, an extra item to clean, and wastes valuable desk space. So prior to finding this cup, I used tea bags and threw them out after each use. I wasn't about to dirty a saucer so I could use a tea bag a second time - remember I'm lazy. Then came the Magisso tea cup to my rescue. I now can conveniently drink loose leaf tea with no hassle. And guess what, it still works great with tea bags! Place the tea bag in the big area and when you are done steeping place it on the strainer so you can get multiple uses out of one bag without dirtying a saucer (so you can deplete your teabag collection before moving on to loose leaf).Potential Drawbacks: -- The cup holds 8 - 10 oz. This is standard mug size, but if you are used to thermal containers and large mugs, this cup may feel small to you. In addition, serious tea snobs will scoff at you for using this device because (1) it's plastic, (2) there is no lid to cover the device during steeping, and (3) the area for tea infusion is small enough so that if you like your tea strong, the tea has no room to "dance." However, the main reason people use this device is not because it is perfect for making loose leaf tea, it's that it is convenient, and easy to clean and still makes a reasonably good cup of tea. If you are a tea snob, you will likely not be happy with this device, and should stick to your more intricate methods.

Why didn't I think of this idea?
I should mention first that although the green cup looks sage green in the picture, it's actually more of an apple green. Google the the shade 14-0452 TCX to get a good idea of the color. Anyway, the convenience of this cup is the best. I can re-steep teas as many times as I want without getting anything else dirty, which is perfect for when I'm studying in my dorm with a cup of tea. The steeping filter's holes are incredibly tiny, and it snaps in place to the cup securely, so my finer teas don't sneak through any cracks. The shape is more like a bowl than a cup, so you can fit plenty of tea in there; I'd say it's about as much as a regular-size mug. Finally, the detachable filter makes it easier to clean all the crevices to get all the old tea out. The only design feature I wish it had is a handle; it's so wide that it's awkward for me to hold in just one hand, but then again I have tiny hands. >.< That's the only reason it loses a star. Besides that, this is a really clever design. I can't believe I didn't have this in my life before!

It's a unique conversation starter and makes a good cup of tea...
This was one of those things that Amazon suggested for me. I bit. I did 't really know what to expect when the package showed up. It was larger than I had expected and at first, holding it was...odd. Now picking it up and sipping a cup of tea is second nature. This certainly is an interesting work of art or engineering. It's Finnish and it snows a great deal in winter there so I guess someone had a great bit of time on their hands and this is what came of it. All in all, as a tea cup it works well. Quite well. But I say don't stop there. Produce a model that's perhaps three times the size with a slightly coarser screen and market it as a cereal bowl. This would be perfect for lovers of cereals like Franken Berry or Count Chocula. Enjoy your favorite breakfast treat out of one side of the device/bowl, turn it around and enjoy the flavored milk. Next Christmas it'll be under all the Christmas trees.Seriously, if you want a unique tea drinking experience, this is it.

Convenience will make even tea snobs enjoy this cup
I am a bit of a tea snob. I own tons of teaware from various places but most of them bought from Teavana or Tea Forte. I tend to enjoy my tea on the light side so i bought the white cup because i thought it would be easier to tell if my tea was getting to strong. So when buying the cup i knew the tea leaves would be kept in a smaller area than normal which is nessary for the design of the cup. I tend to tilt the cup once or twice during the seeping to help the water flow to make up for the smaller area. As far as convenience it is wonderful! Super easy to clean out and no little parts to lay around inbetween cups. Some of the more expensive teas i like to stretch out over to cups, this cup makes it very easy to do. Unless you really like your tea strong one good scoop seems to be plenty for the size of the cup. I love it.

Tea straining area is tiny
... which means I can't put as much leaves as I normally do, which means a weaker tea than I like. It's size is more like a small bowl than a cup, but that's ok. By the time the flavor moves to the water, it's not as hot because the tea is only at the top edge of the water. The black cup means you can't see the darkness of the tea to gauge the strength of tea. That was my bad tho, I should have thought of that.UPDATE (changed from 3 stars to 4 stars):I just tried placing my loose tea in the big area, and then drinking from the end where the strainer is. This is a lot easier! this way, I don't have to worry about the leaves getting on my face, and I can use as much tea leaves as I want! You do risk oversteeping your tea, but I usually drink it by then.

Unique Product
I like having loose leaf tea at work but don't always want to get up 4 mins after I just sat down to go rinse out my tea strainer. This is super nice for work because I can just tip it over to stop the steeping whenever I want. The only downside is it is kind of hard to drink from since it has no handle. The outside doesn't get too hot but it's a big mug so I have to use two hands to comfortably hold it.

This unique tipping teacup is a very good product. I was actually hesitant to purchase it due to some less than positive reviews written about the same product, except in the black and white colors. It seems that the chief complaint is the fact that it is constructed of plastic, and not ceramic. However, I cannot in all honesty see how the removable infuser insert could work well on a ceramic cup. Furthermore, the plastic is very high quality. It reminds me of the plastics used in high quality Tupperware manufactured in the 1980s. My only two complaints are that the price is a bit high, and that heat retention properties will not be adequate for individuals wishing to sip on their tea for a longer length of time.

Lovely idea; execution pretty good too
This is a lovely attempt to make tea simpler, and it mostly succeeds. It's much larger than a normal cup, more like a soup bowl, but the shape means it sits nicely in the hands. It's plastic rather than ceramic, but has a nice smooth feel to it.The strainer area is not very deep, so you have to be careful to fill the cup just right - enough water to get into the strainer area but not so much that it spills over. There isn't much margin for error either way, but you can do this successfully both with loose tea and with tea bags. The strainer can be removed for easy cleaning.

Great for making green tea
Great for making green tea, the cup itself is larger than I expected. The design is clever, there is a filter that clips into place which you can see in the pictures. The mug has two-angled bottoms, one for brewing and the other to halt the brewing process so you can drink. Clean-up is dead simple, just remove the filter by pulling on it with a bit of force and rinse, job done!

Best cup for loose leaf lovers
What a brilliant idea! This cup is great for brewing loose leaf tea but not over-brewing it. Fantastic for green or white teas which can taste bitter if steeped for too long. Easy to clean out too which is always a bonus.
